Re: Europe - In or Out?
I see that our president Obama decided to stick his nose in your business and declare that he supports the UK being part of the EU. Let me just that say that this is the guy that is all for open borders, free stuff for people that don't work and special privileges for everyone except of course those...

Re: What's your day job?
I work for myself and I have several clients. I mostly do Internet marketing but I get involved in email administration, print marketing and many odd jobs. I do have a lot of experience in other areas. I have worked construction, worked as a motorcycle mechanic, designed custom displays, and been an...

Re: A VTR Sway
I am thinking about reinstalling the anti-rattle gear just because the clucking and mild rattle drives me nuts. Other than that it seems to be fine.

A VTR Sway
So, I have a Microsoft 365 Business account and it comes with a product called Sway, it's kind of like PowerPoint where you can make presentations on the fly. I wanted to see how it works so I made a presentation about my Superhawk. It’s pretty abbreviated. It covers all the ground that I covered in...

Re: What's annoyed you today??
I am annoyed with myself. I got out to the shop on a Saturday night, after a very full day. I was tired but determined to do an oil change on the VFR. (I think I was too tired.) I had been putting it off and I had a dealership group ride to attend the next day so I wanted it done. I pulled the fairi...

Re: I am just Checking In
I thought I would drop in a see what was going on. I have not been riding my VTR much. In fact I haven't been riding much at all and what little riding I have done has been on the VFR. I have kept the battery hot and I have cranked it up every few weeks to warm it and keep the oil circulating. Satur...

Re: Whats cheered you up today...?
This has nothing to do with motorcycles but it cheered me immensely. One moment I am in the pit of despair and the next I am on top of the world. Just so you know the background, time and poor workmanship plus substandard materials have all conspired to require a full re-skin of my house. The wife a...

Re: Harly Davidson VTR?
I could have sworn they did a "sports" type bike in the 70s/80s but I cant find one on the tinternet , I thought it was called S1000 or something?? they were only available in black (in my head) .?? I think you are referring to the Harley XLCR Sportster. They have a cult following now but...

Re: Harly Davidson VTR?
The problem with Harley is the people who buy them, when they try anything new no one wants them and they get slagged off by Harley owners. Harley have tried to break into sports bikes for a long time, they even bought Buell. I like Harley's would love to try a V rod one day. After reading about th...

Harly Davidson VTR?
I get a bike magazine in the mail called Motorcycle Classics. It's a really nice read full of articles about all kinds of pre-1980 era bikes as well as reviews of some modern Triumphs and Guzzies. This month there is an article on the Harley Davidson VR1000. It was destined to be a production racer ...

Re: Whats cheered you up today...?
I have not been getting out much lately. Between, the job, the weather and my personal responsibilities it has been tough to find time to just ride. Yesterday, I noticed that my tags are set to expire in the VTR. Before i can get a new tag I have to go down to the local garage and have them bless it...

Re: Whats cheered you up today...?
I desperately need a win this week. I have been doing a lot of things at work that I am no good at and I needed to chalk up a "win" on my personal score card. So, I went out in the shop and assembled the Honda Z50. It is not a restoration by any stretch of the imagination and it is not cus...

Re: chicken theft
We have coyotes. They range at night and look a bit like a starved German Shepard that someone set on fire. The do howl and bark at each other at night like an old cowboy movie. I had a buddy who owned an older, two story house next to a women that fed the pigeons. They are like rats with wings. He ...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
When I got back from my Sunday ride, I went in the house and rousted my wife out to come and snap a picture of the two of us together, my Super Hawk/Fire Storm and me. She muttered something about “mistress” and jealous.” The bike ran superbly and was so much fun. Look at that happy smile on my face...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
I did my first oil change after the initial rebuild one. After the build I put maybe 200 miles on the motor and then changed the oil and filter. This time I put about 1500 miles on it. The magnetic drain plug had about a quarter inch of steel crud on it but no big pieces. I kind of expect to see a l...
