As previously posted I had to sell my Firestorm because I was having a lot of problems with arthritis (40yrs in the building trade has taken it's toll on me) was gutted to have to sell, had storms for 12years, this was my 2nd, awesome bikes and only got ...

Health issues forcing me to sell
For sale 2002 Firestorm 21,000 miles £1200, unfortunately health issues have forced me to sell, I've had the bike since 2016 when it had 14,000 on it, it is in decent overall condition, tyres good, mot to march 2024, since owning it has had hyperpro progressive springs to forks, new chain and ...

Re: Chain length on 43t sprocket?
Thanks for the reply Chris, the conflicting advice I've heard is, yes standard 102 link fits but with adjusters fully in, or also been told better to get the 104 link chain so the adjusters are nearer to what it would be with standard 102 chain and 41t sprocket, so would be interested in hearing ...

Chain length on 43t sprocket?
Appreciate advice on whether to fit standard length chain or slightly longer for a 43t rear sprocket, I know the standard will fit with adjusters fully in but heard conflicting info on standard or longer chain. Thanks for any help

Re: Engine Not running smoothly
Cheers thanks, much appreciated, if I don't manage anything more local when things have settled down I would take you up on that. The guy at CQ Performance was called Quinny, Someone I was speaking to thought he packed his business in and went working as a mechanic for someone else but no other info ...

Re: Engine Not running smoothly
Thanks for the offer, you're exactly the sort of person I'm looking for just a shame not a little bit closer. I'm trying to track down a guy in Southport who used to have a bike repair workshop, now closed, called CQ performance. I remember having a conversation with him a while back and him saying ...

Re: Engine Not running smoothly
Cheers, thanks for the help and suggestions, once this lockdown finished I'm going to try and get something sorted rather than putting up with it. Love the VTR1000, best bikes I've had and am sticking with them

Re: Engine Not running smoothly
Lancaster is maybe a little bit further away than I hoped but thanks for the option if I can't find anyone more local, I would be quite happy to pay a Firestorm owner who's good on the spanners and knows the bikes inside out to sort it out for me, so open to any suggestions/recommendations.

Re: Engine Not running smoothly
Sorry forgot to give my location it's Skelmersdale in West Lancashire/Merseyside area. No the bike is not an import, don't think anything's been done to the tps sensor. After having a previous Storm, I've got a good benchmark to compare my current one with, It's just lacking the smoothness my old one ...

Engine Not running smoothly
I've had my Firestorm for a couple of years and the engine's always been a bit glitchy at low revs up to about 3500 like an engine that's cold and not up to temp. This is my 2nd storm replacing my 1st after it was stolen from me, the 1st one I had for a while, was cracking bike and ran spot on, this ...
