Looking very nice mac If you find you can't brake well enough with the wonky wrist have a look on the disabled riders association and look at the double levers on there,they are pricey but if your wrist/grip isn't going to improve enough for you to ride safely with the standard setup it's an option...

I have a mesh jacket (which I believe is spats) and I find its onlly realy suitable for short trips or really hot days!! The problem I have is when you go to work at 7 in the morning its normally its cold and this jacket lets in so much air. The way I'm trying to solve this is by wearing a wind brak...
