Re: z6 interact
I had a set on my MT-01. Pretty good tyre actually. A lot better than the z4's. Good in the wet. Good wear rate ... well not bad ... the 01 went through tyres at a rate of 3K per pair.

Re: what have you done to your storm today
I took mine to the Storm doctor this morning ... damn thing was running like a pig. Turned that one of the plugs was fricked ... the centre came right out of the thing ... just lifted out of the ceramic insulator. I may have committed a sin as well ... there was a beautiful Kwacker 636 sat there say...

Re: quick tyre question chaps
Concur with the RoadSmarts very good tyre. Had the same issues as FirestormMike with BT021's wearing in a strange way on the front. Even so just put another set back on coz they woz very well priced.

Hello m8 glad you like the Storm. How long have you had the bike? What have you had done to it or is it stock?

Re: S'gotta go for a check up
Thank you chaps. Good advice as ever. It does need a carb balance ... wee bit off. The chain has a couple of thousand miles on it since I fitted it so it's likely to need a quick tweak. I was also thinking dodgy batch of fuel or perhaps a plug breaking down. I'll give it to my tame mechanics to give...

Re: Back to indicators
.... then you'll know if the contacts have worn down to not quite make a good contact ... Can you actually get to the contacts? I got as far as lifting the the white plastic slider and contact assembly ... it looked like a sealed unit ... but I didn't try to seperate the white plastic piece from th...

Re: S'gotta go for a check up
The bike seems to have developed a vibration or the feeling that something is running out of true. I can't put my finger on it. Gotta get her back in the shop for a service ... I need to find out how much life this little puppy has in her. I wish I was closer to tony.mon I'd value his opinion.

Re: Back to indicators
I've done the indicator switch overhaul. It was a lot easier than previously envisaged. Removed the clutch mech from the bar and then released the switch. The next bit is tricky .... luckily I trained as a gynecologist. To access the internals the two halves of the switch mech must be open...

Re: Back to indicators
Grrrrr ... poxy indicator switch has started playing up again. We spoke of this previously .... mine externally looks like new so I'm concerned about buying secondhand from ebay ... they all look fairly tacky. To get the switch unit apart requires removing the fairing and unplugging from behind/belo...

Re: Wheel touch up paint
Hmmm ... my wheels on a 2000 are the exact same colour as the fork legs. It's a silver with a greyish hue .... did I see it called light pearl grey? Can I get that made up in Halfrauds? Thought I saw on RS paints site will look later.

first photo shows the location of the front vacuum take off point. http://i734.photobucket.com/albums/ww348/amcq46/carb%20balance/IMG_000202IMG_0002.jpg See that black plastic shroud protecting the carb (I think that's what it's function is) is it supposed to have a hole in it? Mine has .... only j...

First ride of 2011
Took me XT for a wee trundle this afternoon. Jeez what an awsome bike this thing is. I never thought I'd take to adventure bikes but I've been well and truly sucked in now. My missus ran rear gunner for me in her Land Rover whilst I faffed about down some of the cinder trails. Brilliant. This thing ...
