Hi all, so stoked this forum is still active. My Firestorm needs restoring and technical knowledge will be invaluable.
Expect stupid questions in due course.

Re: notchy steering head
Thanks, i'll get the manual out
I hadn't noticed any obvious handling issues, but the bloke said it would be a different bike when sorted so that's something to look forward to.

notchy steering head
The steering on my FS has a pronounced 'notchy' feel at the centred position. Can't say I noticed before, but it just failed it's MOT for this reason .
The tester reckoned it might be cured by loosening of the steering a bit. Any point in trying this or do I need new bearings?

Re: Beaulieu Ride In Day 26TH June
I wasn't early, that was a dry run.
Really good day out, the weather was great, which was lucky because the zip broke on my jacket and I rode home with it flapping like a cape.

Faded paint
Hi, I stupidly left some clear polythene on my wet bike and now have some sun bleached patches on the fairing and seat unit. Is it worth trying to T-Cut these out?

Re: Mot Failed! Warped Discs..
Dont hold the front brake on when stopped (pressing hot pads onto one part of the disk),
use the back brake to hold the bike if necessary.

Re: Is this the last of the year?
I did nearly 400 miles yesterday, it was great till it started raining about 10pm. Raindrops on a scratchy visor plus steamed up specs and oncoming xenon headlights on full beam is a bit of a challenge after a long day in the saddle. Must get a pinlock and one of those wiper blade thingies. And char...

Re: how do you guys do your wheelies?
One handed, standing on the pegs is how I roll. :cool2 Joking aside, i've only done a few accidental power wheelies pulling away from lights. Like when some cager decides they didnt like me filtering to the front and try to race. Got the front up accelerating over a hump in the road the other day wh...

Re: Brighton Burn Up - Sun 12th
Well that was a mental run, I went down from Box Hill and i've never seen so many bikes.
Has your teal storm got orange wheels?
Glad to discover the big fatal accident that closed the A23 on the way home did not involve any bikers.
edit: sadly the other incident that closed the M23 did.

Ace cafe Brighton run
Never been on this before and i've never seen so many bikes, over 20,000 apparently. It was mad the whole town was swarming and the noise was terrific. Saw a couple of storms, a yellow one and a teal with orange wheels one. Some really nice bikes parked up. I'll try and post some pix.
