Re: looking for a 400 sports bike with a low ride height

I had an imported 1990 GSXR400 as one of my first bikes. Was great fun, easy to throw about, looked good too in blue and silver. My missus is 5' 2 and she had no problem regarding height when she tried it. Dunno if its rubbish but I think I remember someone telling me a lot of the imported 400's hav...

Re: Wifey wants a repsol....

Thanks Zakalwe, i've emailed him and am waiting for a reply. Might take you up on that offer Rick, thanks, although I wont be able to start the respray till the first week of September. Nice looking Repsol paint job, just out of interest, how much paint did you use? Just so I can get a ball park fig...

Wifey wants a repsol....

Hey all, The time has come for a respray. I was hoping to go for something nice and original, maybe two colours tops, maybe with some flake in as my fairings are looking really faded, particularly on the back end. Now I owe my lovely wife (just in case she reads this) some coins for the repair work ...

Leaking exhaust?

I'll try and cut a long story short. Got a set of viper stubby's for peanuts from a guy that took them off his Duke. Got my grubby little mits on some cheap brand new viper link pipes too. Now the link pipe fit is poor to say the least but with some well placed washers I've got it to a point I'm pre...

Re: Brake disc's Anyone brought these?

If you get the wavy discs from Sandy bike spares, or if anyone had them, let me know how they are. I was tempted by them. They probably are from China or something anyway but at least you have a bit more come-back from a UK company if they are faulty or whatever.

Re: Bagster seat cover

I'm not sure the pic does it justice. I remember ages ago catching a glimpse of a yellow storm with the yellow seat cover and i think it looked fairly smart but I wanted to refresh my memory before shelling out for one EDIT: Ok found a pic from ebay, on a yellow storm but I think it looks ok. Its wh...

John Oldfield Honda Parts - Southampton

Just thought i'd give a quick mention to him as i've used him for a few bits and seems to really know his stuff. He's got what looks like a tiny corner shop but he has stacks of spares and specialises in hard to find bits, particularly for older Hondas. He's not the cheapest but might have a part yo...

Bagster seat cover

Right after pretty much sorting the engine out (thanks for the input everyone that helped) I figure its time to persuade the wife that I need to waste money on making the bike look good (at least as good as a blade in Repsol colours as she is obsessed with them). As wet weather is coming and my seat...

Re: Familiar symptoms to anyone?

Thanks for all the advice. As the bike has done 50k and I can't be sure they've ever been changed I'll change them anyway. You are probably right I am being a perfectionist. Still I got a cam chain and the new one makes the marks on the cams line up almost perfectly. Seems to run a bit smoother too ...

Re: Familiar symptoms to anyone?

Well I thought I might whip the chain off in the morn and take it down to the parts place to compare with a new one before buying. If there was barely a difference i'd have a rethink. I'm praying the chain is the problem or i might consider covering my face in grease, stripping naked and sacrificing...
