Re: Brake caliper pin removal??

Ahh right, it's just a cap... Well it's jammed, so had to dremmel a wider screw driver socket into it since I can't hammer it out :-( Anyway, all done thank you and new HH pads fitted. Glad to hear you got it done OK, these can be real PITA, particularly if the brakes haven’t been touched in a wh...

Re: This Saturday 3 Sept early. Rideout

Ok so we got Yorks - coming from Ponte Budd - coming from Wakefield Flatline - coming from Shadwell Me - coming from Cleakheaton We can either meet up somewhere and ride up there together, or just meet up there at 9am say? We could meet at Jordan's bikes there? If you want to meet up before hand, I...

Re: Head Lights

I've been thinking about HIDs too, and they are cheaper than ever now, check this link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HID-Motorcycle-Kit-H4-Bi-xenon-Hi-Lo-Slim-Ballast-4300K-/170654456488?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item27bbcc5aa8 at that money it may be worth a punt, I'd stick to the 4300K output an...

Re: paint code question

yeah it's a bit of a nightmare at the moment, I've got cars stored in neighbours garages, a council lock up full of ‘stuff’, an Impreza in bits on the drive and a little paint cell set up in the garage, that’s why the garage looks so untidy I basically pushed everything to one side so I could ...

Re: paint code question

Thanks for the input guys, and I think the problem is combination of the ideas suggested in the last few posts, but first have look at this pic taken this morning in the sunlight. http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee300/budd_album/17082011819.jpg Match looks much better under sunlight, and while it...

Re: paint code question

Ok I've repaired and re-painterd the O/S fairing panel, however the colour I had mixed Y-124p isn't a perfect match, it's not quite as 'rich' see pic http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee300/budd_album/16082011817.jpg I'm wandering if A they haven't mixed the colour right, B the code is wrong for a ...

Re: Repairing gelcoat?

yes the powerbronze stuff is GRP so finish will be gel coat, and I think having a go with wet n dry then cutting compound would be the way to go in the first instance, although I’d try something like G3 rather than T-cut, gel coat is quite thick so you could get pretty aggressive with it before yo...

Re: Repairing gelcoat?

if they are OE fairing bits then they won't be gel coat, OE plastics are just that ABS plastic and are painted not gel coat, you genrally only find gel coat on kit cars and boats, even GRP race fairings are white gel coat then painted to suit, If they are OE parts then just paint as normal, flat off...

Re: anyone going to the Manx GP?

I wouldn't say the racing is faster than the TT, the top TT lads are in a different league, but it’s great never the less, IMO it’s not quite as manic as the TT lots of classic bikes too, so the atmosphere is a bit more laid back than the TT which is just bonkers. The main advantage the TT as is...
