Re: Chain and sprocket recommendations please

i use JT sprockets [15 tooth front] and gold o/x ring chains, they never fail. you just need something solid to whack the link pins onto [25kg weight works for me] use a flat punch in the centre of the link to pop the rivets right through, then something with s dull point to open up the rivet, then ...

Re: single sided swing arm conversion stage 2

hi timbo, thats how i used to be, servicing and that was it, but when i saw how much it was costing me to get work done, i just taught myself how to do it, welding is tricky if youv'e never done it but like most things, practice makes perfect. i'm not a mechanic [caretaker infact] but with a manual ...

Re: single sided swing arm conversion stage 2

hey up timbo....thats probably where we differ slightly, i would never ask someone else to work on one of my bikes or cars for me, not that i don't trust other peoples work, but if you have done a job yourself, its to your standards and not theirs, plus the costs involved go through the roof when yo...

Re: Double bubble

if you have a yellow bike an irridium is a must, it sets off the front end and if you get a matching visor for your helmet it looks even better,

Re: single sided swing arm conversion stage 2

yes have loads of photos, will add some more when i can, its a pretty straight forward job to do, and it means no more giving lifts to fat bas$£%ds as well....bonus. you need to be a bit handy with the fibre galss and the filler, but apart from that the biggest problem is lining it all up before it...

Re: single sided swing arm conversion stage 2

heres some updated photos of the conversion, i have now fitted the rear shock to the custom mount and through the frame.....that takes some balls to drill your frame believe me...!!! had to over size the hole as well to get the bolt straight but its done and the custom exhaust link pipe fits nicely ...

Re: single sided swing arm conversion stage 2

thanks for comments the vfr swing arm is off an 800 non vtec version [early model] i agree with the comment about visuals, you cant beat a sssarm on the side stand with a well painted wheel and also a custom exhaust showing, and yes for chassis strength a braced arm is the way to go...if you want a ...

Re: My new storm - what's the first 5 things you'd do?

do a sssarm conversion like me, have a look at my posts to see how much of a small simple ten minute job it is.....LMAO, you won't get any technical advantage though it actually stretches the wheel base by a few inches [good for high speed stability though] but boy does it look the dogs baldrocks an...

I have also got...

Re: Polished Wheel Help

i'm about to polish the lips up on my rear wheel [on vfr 800 rear wheel, sssarm conversion], i'll be taking off all the paint with nitromores then using my dremel with the soft copper head to strip any stubborn bits, then just polishing with autosol, once the centre has been painted satin black to m...
