Re: Non VTR but bike related. Is it or isn't it ??????

AFAIK it will still be a Ducati 748 model wise, just with a 916 engine :S You need to notify them that you have changed the engine (new engine number, and CC)... I am only working off what I remember reading and hearing.... E.G. if you had the heads skimmed on say a Mk1 Ford Escort 1300, you should ...

Re: Meta Alarm

Ah fair enough....

I did find a plug pinout diagram (would cost me a £5)...
Apparently that makes it very easy to remove...

The wiring on mine looks as though it was done professionally.... :S

Loads of wires going everywhere, so could take a while :P

Re: Low speed riding - gearing

My bike is completely standard apart from 33bhp restrictors, and I havent noticed the problem... Well, I did have a running problem because of the vacuum hose being connected to the wrong tap connection, but once that was discovered its a joy to ride :S pulls from tickover to 6k rpm nicely (then the...

Re: Meta Alarm

Thanks for the offer phil, but I already have a manual for it....

I just wanted to check to see if it was fixable...

As for the big chain, got one :P

Going to be "interesting" ripping it out...
Seeing all the wires are black :P

Meta Alarm

Hello people. The other day I realised that my firestorm has an alarm... A Meta Alarm M357T V2 I had been wondering what the push button on the key was, and I went past the bike and pushed the button, and the bike beeped at me :P Well after having a fiddle I realised it doesnt work properly. Reason ...

Re: cyclone talking alarm

Funny, I was going to ask about the Cyclone alarms...

I discovered the other day my bike has a Meta Alarm M357T V2 (alarm/immobiliser)
But it doesnt work properly...

So was thinking about one of these cyclone alarms as a bit of a deterrent...

Re: Odd Running

That was the problem...
When the bike was restricted, the fitter must have put the vacuum hose on the drain hose connection.

I put the hose on the vacuum point connection and all cured :)

Re: Odd Running

The problem is gone... I fixed it :P I decided to take the fuel tank off and check all the cables etc... And I noticed at the back of the fuel tap a nipple without a hose... But a hose off the bottom nipple... Now, I know some mechanics, and have had a few experiences with vacuum taps...and thought,...

Re: Odd Running

Haha! :D  Thats good, I like that.... I think it might understeer though ;) On a more serious note, I'm not overly tall (6 foot 2), but I am built like the proverbial outhouse :P Used to play a lot of rugby, Tight head prop... So smaller bikes arent comfortable... I could pick my old TZR125...

Re: Odd Running

and more worrying is the amount who get the subaru's and cars like that....
and arent insured!

from what I heard from a friend of the family (ex traffic cop) only about 1/2 of the "chavs" are actually insured...
mind you....a small percentage havent got a license!

Re: What Do You Think?

I would love a CBX1000......

Cant afford them though :S

The sound of that inline 6 with decent pipes, like the 6 into 6, is just unbelievable....
On par with v twins like the firestorm with race pipes...
and 2 strokes with race pipes :P

Re: Odd Running

Thanks timbo, thats exactly it.... I find the Firestorm much more comfortable due to my size than small bikes... And as you said, the restrictors dont affect the bottom end grunt much at all.... Basically its just like riding the firestorm without ever opening the throttle to more than half and dont...
