Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Pulled Pauline's carbs off, checked the diaphragms and pulled the jets. Rear main looked clogged, blasted them all through - and cleaned the float bowls. Ran out of time to do TPS, but now I know how they come off it'll be quicker next time. Made sure I routed the carb breathers in the factory modif...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Got the tyre swapped over, it's a 190 - but it'll do for the MOT and keep me on the road till end of season. Removed the seized chain adjusters and give 'em a clean and oil. Assembled rear sets ready to fit, just need to mod the holes on the heel guard - open them up for the larger bolts - attempt 1...

Re: Headlight/nosecone screw and housing issue
I just dealt with this problem. I turned the screw clockwise thus forcing the brass nut out with it, then used following to replace. Worked a treat http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=280708445144 Now they're useful. I'll be buying a set as I have one screw held in with plastic tubing!...

Re: Misfire - 3,500-4,000 RPM
I'm thinking crap in the carbs. It's the erratic nature of it. Like a block in a pilot jet?tony.mon wrote:Sounds like a carb strip is in order, and check the vac hoses when you have the airbox off beforehand.
And make sure the plug caps are properly pushed on....

Re: Misfire - 3,500-4,000 RPM
Try a normal filter if it hasn't been rejetted for the K&N. When were carbs last balanced? Check for any air leaks in the intake/exhaust system. Is the vacuum hose intact and correctly placed. I'll double check the vacuum hose. It was faultless until the CCT replacement - the workshop know Stor...

Misfire - 3,500-4,000 RPM
I've been riding Pauline's 'Storm for the last few days - and I've noticed a misfire/splutter around 3,500-4,000 RPM, usually after using more throttle/revs, backing off, then rolling on the throttle. It clears its throat with more Revs and throttle - and is fine at high revs or large throttle openi...

Adopt this approach and you won't be disappointed. "I'm going on a ride-out and you are welcome to join me. It starting at "Location A" at "start time" and stopping at "Location B" for coffee/smoke/eats etc. We'll be heading back to "Location A" via &quo...
