sirch345,
I could check it out but the bike has been running like a pig only when it's frosty out there. Otherwise it runs fine.

But thanks for the pointer anyway! Will keep it in mind to check when I'm changing the plugs.

Thanks lads, Pete, I already bought the dpr9eix-9 spark plugs so will have to do with them. Since the original post the weather hasn't been as cold in ireland and the bike is running fine so I suspect it is just that it could do with a hotter spark rather then the carbs being dirty. But there might ...

Running Like a Pig

Folks, First time in 3½ years of ownership that the VTR is running like a pig. I recently ran her completely dry and since then she hasn't been as smooth as before. It is especially bad in cold weather. On the frosty mornings she runs as if she's about to run out of petrol. (stuttering engine) but ...

here is some info I got from the Biker.ie site (Johnny Wishbone posted this reply to a similar question) Contact Europlates in Batterstown, about 10 minutes past Blanchardstown, off the N3. They quoted me €100 to powder coat two wheels. You'll need to remove everything from the wheels - disks, bea...

PMCQ,
What part of Dublin are you in? I'm hangin' round @ the west side.
Seen a few (red) VTR's about when going into work (via the N3). Not you by any chance?

pmcq, His behaviour and attitude caused the accident in the first place. I really feel that you should consider reporting him to the local traffic cops. He was lucky that you did not have dinner any earlier and were on your way back home - coming through the S-bend in the opposite direction.... Thin...

Hé Stu, Glad you enjoyed the Irish roads. The N25 is nice alright, shame I don't get to do it more often. Too bad we could not have met up with some of the lads. Anyway, the average mph is indeed 130mph. Impressive! You must have been awful keen to get on that boat?!?! Did you get into trouble with...

The VTR1000F Maintenance Schedule (From the Honda Service Manual) states that oil changes are only required every 8000 miles.
Does it say 4k somewhere else. This was the rule on the 4 cycl bike I had before but that bike revs much higher then the twin...
