Re: Strange Knock.

Mine does it as well, thought it was normal. It did it when I first got it and it hadn't been serviced in a while and still does it after checking valve clearances, Valve timing timing, new plugs filters, balancing the carbs etc. I thought it was down to poor fueling from such big carbs at low revs.

When the bike was really cold I got the famili...

Re: engine swap question

Honda put it there knowing that it would confuse 50% of owners and they'd put it on the wrong one causing the bike to run terribly. They would then have to take the bike to a Honda dealer who would charge them 2 hours labour for putting the pipe on the right connector. This would keep their dealers ...

Re: Stutter and then cut out

One possiblity is that the fuel lines are being kinked and restricting fuel flow, you might not be able to see the kinks if they occur when you put the back of the tank into its mounting. Re: Handling issues - doesn't want to turm in....

Check the head bearings, too tight and they cause the symptoms you describe. They may have been overtightened to disguise being worn. Becomes less obvious the faster you go. (I'm also guessing you mean the yokes have been dropped down the forks, which should make it turn a bit quicker)

Re: Hot-Water hoses on the Carbs?

Carb icing is moisture in the air freezing on the internal surface of the carb. It forms a frost on the inside which can block the jets causing the bike to cut out.
