Do a search on the superhawkforum.com site as there is a lot of discussion on this very item. If you are bent on putting USD forks on your VTR, then SP (or RC51 as it is known here in North America) is the way to go as the forks are the same length. Specifically, look for threads by RC996 or RCVTR a...

soooooooo happy :)

Hi everyone, While mid-April weather around the Montreal (Canada) area is typically cool, we have been blessed with some very nice and warm days of late. So, in order to take advantage of this unseasonally warm temperature, I took the afternoon off and went riding. I just got back from a leisurely 2...

compression ratio

Hello :) I have a few quick questions regarding the possibility of raising the compression ratio on the VTR. Has anyone tried to accomplish this via the old head milling technique? If so, how much did you take off and what were your results? I realize that J.E. and Moriwaki make pistons that will up...

Sorry Zero but complex colour schemes do not count. Besides, it is a well documented fact that they did some tests in Latvia a few years back and found that the very colour scheme you are using was responsbile for a 8.76 mph loss. Sorry to be the one to break it to you

:)

By the way, I hope you folks realize once and for all that the dark blue ones are the fastest (when running in our fine and clean North American air anyhow), lol cheers Mikstr P.S. I fully expect the owners of red, yellow, silver and black (and yikes, maybe even the teal and orange crowd, eeeeeeeeee...

thanks Sirch :)

By the way, it looks good (IMHO, unbiased of course) but it runs even better :)

I must confess I feel like a bit of a "knob" for not being able to post the pic. Care to share the secret?

cheers

"RC" mod updates

I just picked up my VTR from the dealer's after having had my valves adjusted. While it was in the shop, I got them to install my RC51 front brake master cylinder as well as the (quicker action) RC45 throttle tube. Thanks to folks on this site for giving me the info required to make these mods :) I ...

I would have to assume that 1200 cc v-twins would be an option for all manufacturers, not just Ducati. Realistically, there is no other way for a twin to compete with a four cylinder bike.

Who knows, maybe we will see the second coming of the RC51/RVT?

From what I read elsewhere, the MC diameter on the RC51 (or SP1/SP2) and CBR929 is 19 mm whereas the one on the 954 is 17 mm. My VTR is currently in the shop having its valves adjusted but I am having a RC51 MC installed at the same time (along with a RC45 throttle tube). I am looking forward to try...

Anyone using an ignition advancer?

Greetings from across the Pond fellow VTR'ers :) I was wondering who among you was using some type of ignition advancer on your VTR's? I have scanned around looking for info (Micapeak,...) and it seems that quite a few people are using them (mostly the Factory Pro +4 degrees unit) but I have read fe...
