Re: the end of my tether is in sight - won't rev

Ohhh i see my name mentioned..... :) The symptoms that you have described IMHO only point to 1 thing and that is the ignition advance, the 3500-4000 rpm you mentioned is the point where the engine will start to splutter if the ignition timing is static. Carry out the tests in section 17 of the works...

Re: Running Problems

Just thinking out loud here.....

Your problem of "mis-firing" was first at 5000 rpm, you cleaned the carbs and it moved to 7500 rpm, now that seems to indicate to me it is not an ignition fault and the problem is still with the carbs.

Re: 1982 Moto Guzzi V50 III

Tony, my ex said to get them both but she had £ signs in her eyes  Next time i see him, i'll ask the price for both. Parts are cheaper then Honda and some of the common problem areas, valves and final drive gears were re-done in the last few years :) Now i just have to raise some money :(

1982 Moto Guzzi V50 III

On my way to the local shops i got chatting with a guy who has 4 Guzzi's in his garage, he mentioned last year that he wants to get rid of the 2 oldest ones, an 82 V50 Mk3 and a Spada. It hasn't run for a couple of years and needs some work doing to it but overall it looks a sound bike, he wants £3...

Re: Running Problems

errrr thats not right, the butterfly governs the air flow, which produces vacuum which lifts the slides to govern the fuel.

The choke doesnt move anything in the carb, it allows fuel to enter the engine via the holes at the top after the butterfly in the inlet side.

Re: Calling all fellow Yellow stormers! Help required..

Your yellow may not even be a Honda one, so you could be back at square one if you buy the later model paint!

Take part of the bike into Halfords and get them to mix it to match.

Re: Starter woes

If the starter is not engaging it could be the sprag clutch. I believe a few others have had the same problem, try a forum search.
