Re: RBLR 1000 2011

Seriously thinking about it as the pain from last year as almost been erased from my memory but I can still remember cruising near loch lomond in the sinshine and that is worth doing again. The wife has flatly refused though ... she was pillion, navigator and food supplier last year.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Today (well yesterday to be fair) I bit the bullet and finally took the first steps to modifying my storm (apart from the blue flames, scottoiler, hugger and smaller front sproket that I did at some point last year). Mainly I was going to fit the ohlins shock :D I have sitting on my kitchen table bu...

Re: race belly pan

Hi mate, don't know if you got this sorted or not but I have a skidmarx belly pan - at least i think it is a Skidmarx - anyway it is enclosed at the bottom but not sure it will meet regs as it's joined together with 3 bolts and the joint would prob piss oil straight through. However, I've just taken...

Re: Swingarm to brace or not to brace...

Kev Thanks for the photos, I think I'll be following the same route - so it's time to start cruising ebay. Get the point about the caliper and anyone doing the welding I guess you need to trust as being a pro. So before I start parting with the hard earned I guess this is the easiest way to get a br...

DOH! You're right :) The bracket would be the wrong way round.

I'll check the forum. Pictures would be great though.

Re: Swingarm to brace or not to brace...

Kev, that's brilliant. I take it the blade therefore has the same diameter disc etc ... so it's just a caliper and bracket change with no other issues? I did wonder about turning the VTR caliper upside down as the lug seems to be in the centre of the arm. I'll have to do some measurements to find ou...

Swingarm to brace or not to brace...

So, the sun is shining and I'm pottering about getting the bike back on the road and I realise I'm going to have to regrease the swing arm and pivot bearings. (2004 bike 35,000 miles - never been done) . Anyway so it got me thinking  if I'm going to strip the back of the bike off ...

Re: dog?

Can't help but agree with everything Tony.mon as said. I bought mine spankin' new in 2004 and it has never let me down, not once.... well maybe a flat battery a couple of times but that was sorted with a larger 12Ah unit. Changed the CCTs at 20,000 miles and joined this forum later on. Realised I sh...

Any ideas - Headlights...

Ok - so I need a new set of fairings and I've seen Mario Nava's creations a few times. He has also made this one that he calls the VTR1000R.... looks pretty cool. http://web.tiscalinet.it/mario_nava/vtr1000r_e.html So I was asking him about the front headlanp and it comes off a Peugeot Speedfight 50...

Re: Bikes & Bikers

Happy to report that up here in north Yorkshire all 99% of bikers are friendly as. I'd even go as far to say that the car drivers are alright on the commute, getting out of the way, flashing the lights if the cops are up ahead... can't really comment on whether it's changed much over the years, I've...

Re: What have I done ... Help please

Thanks Benny, I reckon that's exactly what I did .... Doh  I'm planning on a bit of bike modding over the winter but on this form it doesn't look good! Still just booked the day off on Friday so i can try out what the storm feels like with a 15 tooth sproket on the front. Should be fun! :D

Re: What have I done ... Help please

SORTED IT  Thanks guys. As to the problem well it was a simple case of a twisted trapped fuel line. Don't know how it happened really ... must have begun months back when I was faffing with the air filter and had the tank off ... so the fuel line was trapped at the base of the tank and must...
