just a minor adjustment....

This is what happens when you're the sort of person that goes to the supermarket for a loaf or something but then thinks about all the other stuff you need whilst you're there. I've had the storm since new in '04 when I picked it up to replace my cbr600 which got nicked. Didn't do much to her other ...

Re: I need a universal front mudguard or ideas for making on

How about foam pipe lagging?

Should fit around the tyre and if it bonds in you can easily dissolve it with a bit of solvent.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

The bars are Gilles Tooling in Germany. I think there are a few suppliers but I got them from Calsport. http://www.Calsport.co.UK. and I can tell you they have great customer service. The product is called a variobar and the risers come in different sizes upto 80mm ish. However they do not recommend...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Ok..... So long as the image works these are the Gilles variobars. They are a quality piece if kit and are adjustable in all directions. The picture shows up massive colour difference between bars, grips and levers. To be fair the difference between bars and grips is not so bad ( this phone camera s...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Hi bsm Yeah it's taken a while. The swinger was harder than I thought to get right and then one thing just sort of led to another. It's like when you go to Tesco for a loaf of bread and you end up spending £50 on stuff you had forgotten you need. should be back on the road before the end of the mont...

Starcom advance is a great system.
Hardwired to the bike and a little time consuming to set up but excellent nonetheless. Plus you can plug in your iPod / phone / GPS etc...

swingarm help...

So today I fitted my newly braced swingarm. However, after I tightened the nut on the left hand side to the correct torque the bar sticks out too far and means the plastic caps do not fit. Also the swingarm does not move up and down smoothly. Can somebody please post a couple of photos up of the swi...

Re: Shock replace/upgrade

If you do want to get the shock checked out or a spring replacement then can't recommend firefox enough. They really know what they're doing. Got a rebuilt / reconditioned ohlins unit from them last year and had the forks revolved and sprung. Best thing I ever did to the bike. You could try and pick...

Re: Sticking Throttle....

Thanks guys I'll check all and see what happens.
The new bars are Gilles vario bars with cnc grips by pro-sport. I'll be seriously pissed if I can't get them to work!

Sticking Throttle....

Hu guys, I've replaced the bars and they are now slightly higher and closer to the tank. This initially caused the throttle to stay open and I assumed was becasue the cables were being bent at odd angles and stretched more than normal. I thus rerouted the cables so as not passing through the forks, ...

Re: Rock and a hard place

Hi mate, Had a similar problem. My other half is only 5'4" and I'm only 5'8" tall. Meant that the Storm wasn't great on long journeys as in order for her to hold on or lean on the tank she ends up sliding towards the tank and eventually really uncomfortable both ending up in the driving se...
