Re: Bike for sale - 6800 genuine miles

I had the tank resprayed because the lacquer had started to peel because of a scratch in one spot. Treated her to a respray and opted to not do decals and also removed from the fairing. In short, because I wanted to.

Bike for sale - 6800 genuine miles

Hello Ladies and gents Been a while since I've been here and after much deliberation I've decided I need to part company with my beloved Crazy Diamond after 17 years. So here it is, one 97 Firestorm in black with 6800 genuine miles. She's been meticulously maintained by both me and Bridgegate Motorc...

Re: E-petition - abolish m'cycle road tax

Hmmmm...... so we're all pretty much singing from the same hymn sheet in that we think there is a better way to do it. I know about the excise duty and why it's now based on emissions as opposed to that which it used to be but the aim here is to have it discussed. If it's raised as an issue then it'...

E-petition - abolish m'cycle road tax

Hi All, Not been on for a while - been thinking of you though! Having just renewed the road tax for my 'storm I had that all too familiar sense of annoyance, :Finger: and :Argue 1: because it's £80 and for me, as well as probably most of us, totally disproportionate to the mileage we do and the emis...

Re: Need some advice

Cheers Kev. He should be alright then as he's built like a lamp post. Should definately just do it. He's got a Z750 to part ex. Don't know if anyone wants one. Its 06 plated and has done 1150 miles (not a mistype). Orange (candy apparently :wtf: ) and just about totally standard apart from the colou...

Re: Need some advice

thanks for that Benny. He tried my storm and said it was too small in the frame. The storm was the first bike to have a litre engine in a 600 frame if I'm not mistaken (probably am :shifty: ) but I know that an SP-1 frame is longer (as per a post on something else from tony.mon) too so with the half...

Need some advice

Ladies and Gents. It's been a while but I need to ask some wordly advice if I may.... A mate of mine is after an SP-1. The thing is he's 6'4 and doesn't know if it'll be too small to be comfortable. Obviously he should ride one but there are none local and he'd have to buy the one he's found over th...

Re: How do your indicators look

I have a set of stubby arrow heads on the front that have a sligtly smoked lense and the rear set is just miniature square ones. I like.
I believe I have the front set of OEM's. If someone wants to provide them with new lodgings then I'll try to dig 'em out.

Re: American imports.......

Thanks for that Benny. Will pass onto my mate. Didn't think that was too bad for the bike with that mileage on it.... I think he might be a bit put off if he has to start messing with wiring and restrictions....though you'd think someone would have done all the legwork where thats concerne...

American imports.......

Hello Folks, A mate of mine is looking at an 06 Blade that is purported to be an American import. Does anyone know what if any differences there are between American bikes and British.....? Is it parts and servicing differences, insurance issues, power restrictions or something else? I have no idea ...

Spotted a black T reg 'storm at Ulverston Shell station Friday 4th June. Red decals and a mat black belly pan. Noisy stubby carbons on too. Louder than mine? Nah.....!

Re: Crash bungs
I put Motrax crash bungs on mine. Bolt straight to the frame with no mods, and I can vouch for them as well, tried and tested
Those sound like the easy option and therefore the best [mostly]. Where abouts did you put them? Couldn't locate an obvious spot when ...

Re: Crash bungs

Jeepers..... crash bung fitting school. Thats excellent. You truly have brass ones cutting into your fairing. I think I'd pay someone to do that as I'd end up cutting my bike in half with my fists of ham. Thanks for the guide Geodude. Muchas useful.
