Even other reporters at the Mirror are ripping into him! Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.. :D Hope he gets the short answer next time he pops out to Afghanistan too..

To take it out of service mode press and hold the 0 button. A manual for the alarm is here if you have disconnected the battery without putting it in service mode, then you may have "spiked" the alarm. Instructions on how to de-spike it are here I can get it in and out of service mode ok,...

Plip! I 've just swapped my rear sub frame cos the old one is Plip! rusty and a bit twisted. The only bother is, the bikes got a Datatool Veto Plip! alarm fitted.
