Re: lightened flywheel.

If it was just a couple to do and 15 minutes work in each I would probably just do it as a favour as half hour out of my life is pretty much nothing in the grand scheme of things. If I was setting it up as a part time income and expected a continual flow of work then fair enough my attitude may be d...

Re: lightened flywheel.

Decided I would try the lightened flywheel route and set up to do it one day when I was bored at work. Made the bolt to remove it and then using an impact gun it took only a few minutes to remove it and have it ready to machine up. I turned it down to the dimensions in the drawing/pictures Benny had...

Re: upload picture test

Yes they are PFM and with the cast iron rotors... they work ever so well and never been happier with brakes!

Re: Fork Braces!

From what I have read it was slacken axle pinch bolts, fit and tighten/torque the brace... and the top should be around 3mm down from the fork seals... and then retighten the pinchbolts.

So the slotting and bolting of the middle plate is a preferable direction.. makes sense to me!

Re: Fork Braces!

I will almost certainly make the parts out of HE30 or 6082-T6... it is cheap and easy to get hold of here and machines easily. a description from a materials site as follows: Alloy 6082 is a medium strength alloy with excellent corrosion resistance. Alloy 6082 has the highest strength of the 6000 se...

Re: Fork Braces!

I was going to measure across the ground surface and get the centres from that, try the nylon/polyester to a couple of mm thick and then go from there. Be interesting as to how they hold the plastic insert in there and if it sits in a groove or is bonded. They will not take too much to make or too l...

Re: Braced swing arm show-and-tell

I had the same problem with my braced swinging arm and went back to the normal position for the rear silencers. I really would like to somehow get the high level pipes back on and keep the rear pegs as well. Thinking I am going to just get the bike with the silencers where I want them and then get i...

Re: Fork Braces!

Looking at it in the pictures, I just presumed it is simply two clamps at either end with a polyester insert and a flat bar bar between them. I was going to measure the diameter of the legs and the pitch between them on my own bike and make them to that. If you would like to measure yours or you kno...

Re: Fork Braces!

And yet another person here been thinking about adding a fork brace.. have the same item in my watch list on eBay but more so to copy the item and make it in the CNC workshop I look after. If I do this would anyone else be interested in a English made and no brand name fork brace as that write up ha...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

I noticed the revs drop a lot quicker... and is it normal that it stalled twice till it got a little warmer? did you raise the tickover a little to compensate? Been sitting here chuckling away to meself after doing the flywheel and throttle etc together, got a feeling I may end up on my butt or seom...
