Hi Mate,
Has the trip meter stopped working as well?
I had this fault on my bike, it was caused by the trip meter reset button getting stuck.

Re: CLACKING
I will try and answer the mundane part, dash bulbs. They are 12v 1.7w bulbs and like rocking horse sh1t, I found a dealer who sells them for approx £3.00 each. I went to Halfords and bought the 2.2w ones. I exchanged them with the idiot lights that you dont use very much, e.g main beam and sidestan...

Re: Strange donk
Hey Col, Chris,
Thanks for that.
It could be a misfire on one cylinder, it has a K&N filter in it.
It doesnt sound metalic at all, the chain cush rubbers all seem fine.
If its a common thing on the firestorm then I can live with it, it doesnt stop my enjoyment of it.

Strange donk
99 VTR with 18k on the clock.
I get a strange donk when on a light throttle sometimes on the overun or as I go down the box or simply poodling along in traffic in a low gear. The clutch seems to be fully engaged no slip or wheel locking, chain is adjusted ok. Anyone know if this is common on the VTR?

Re: Starting problem 2
Hi Mate, Mine is a sod to start as well. Try this, turn it over with full choke for a few turns, turn choke off, turn throttle just a little, press starter and open throttle just a touch as it fires. If you dont catch it try again. The key to this is getting it going before the battery goes flat, I ...

Powerlinks
Yup, I agree. Mark is a really good bloke, he gives sound advice and doesn't rip you off. I trust his opinion. Most of the blokes in my firm go to him.

Service manual
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the reply.
I already have the Haynes manual, but it doesnt cover manual chain tensioners only the automatic sprung loaded ones. Sorry if my original post was confusing.
regards
Rob
