Re: Scary "moments" on a motorcycle What was your last one?
I pulled up beside a soft top merc at a set of lights in Golders Green a few weeks back to inform the driver of a defective off side brake light only to be propositioned by a bronzed busty wrinkly Richard Emery sort; " Oh, thank you love. And how nice it is to meet a gentleman in leather. Care ...

Re: What's this nipple?
Hi Nige That is a drain nipple onto which a short hose was attached (suggest you attach one) to allow coolant out should the pump seal go bad (so the oil and coolant doesn't mix) and fitted post 98 models which had just a wee 'weep' hole. When next I have the cover off, I'll be attaching one myself ...

If you go back to the installation TDC positions, turn the bolt in finger tight (no tools), brace the bolt head with a ring spanner (otherwise the bolts tend to turn in further when locking) pop a spot of thread lock on the base of the bolt and lock. If you're inclined and very careful, you can do t...

Re: cost of the 2012 Olympics
Agreed Gents. Whatever the final costs, the costs to the brand are huge - they've ruined its prestige. The Olympics have lost any semblance of the spirit in which the games were first conceived and have become nothing more than a perfect example of commodification of the people and financial gain. N...

I'm no a fan of rim damage (who is) so I'd grab another wheel.

Re: What tyres?
However skint one is, I recommend not putting budget boots on - these are yer only contact with the hard stuff after all. I ride on Avon Storm 2 Ultras with Bridgestones a close second. About 200 - 250 a set, you can't beat good boots for a confident ride. A fair few people ask this question so I wo...

Re: probably another stupid question :)
Wouldn't be without a bottle jack + wooden block (an offcut of bamboo flooring) and it doesn't take up so much space. Once the front wheel is removed, an axle stand under the front spindle provides additional stability. With an Abba stand, this and a bottle jack under the sump means you can whip the...

Hiya Chris
Went to Inzievar (Mrs Borland's class) but we moved south in the fair holidays of 77, the year I was supposed to go to Queen Anne. Got an auntie up the road from you in Crossford (the Pitfirrane being the local). Next time I'm up, I'll give you a shout.
