Re: Best screen for six footers

Hi Staggy - At a half inch under 6'2", I suggest grabbing a double-bubble screen - my Storm has one (came on the bike) and 'works' great - in that the resultant airflow is raised (and slightly parted) above where it would otherwise be (my neck) and I personally find that more comfortable. Here'...

Personalized Number Plates - What's yours?

Not seeing a plate article (although I've seen a few elsewhere), I thought I'd bring it up with thy fellow stormers and see what happens. It's not for everyone but expressive plates can be highly amusing although I admit mine's far from that, it's about not taking yerself too seriously and opening y...

Re: Harpoon Exhausts

Thanks for the timely replies chaps. I wasn't really looking for any appreciable increase in BHP, rather I was looking to 'keep that ripping 'n' rumbling' sound without a mod penalty although I'm due a wee 'penalty' for changing my details :? Indeed my carbs get the occasional wee back puff now on a...

Harpoon Exhausts

Hi All, Does anyone know anything about Harpoon pipes and their specs? I've a set that came with the bike last year and wondered if they're any good. Searches yield nothing much other than http://www.harpoon.es (blank, nothing there) and that they changed their name to Kreiger (no mention of Harpoon...

Welcome Jim
Yep, Storms are sweet.
Popped out on a run on my mate's brand new R6 last week and I couldn't stand its whining! 1000rpm for every 10mph, eugh!
Enjoy.

Stratman
I'm a "Precision" man myself; I'm just getting to know her, after all. Nice solo though. We just need a self-centred warbler and a mullered tub thumper to hit the road!

The saga is over. Got it going! Pete, you guessed right. The front Coil primary showed just a wee bit more resistance than spec (only about 3kΩ over) although I didn't see it as critical but a replacement coil did the trick. All this grief started with my seeking to check the spark at the plug! I su...

Bluefox I understand that the front lobes should point up/away from each other. He notes this here (his fourth entry) http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8326 "The cam lobes should also be facing away from each other:!:" If this is not the case (wait for Sirch to confirm, I guess...

Pete, Hi and thanks. The HT Coils can be swapped over, the front and rear ones interchanged - rationale: that if one is defective, it should repeat the problem on the plug/pot onto which the lead is connected. Agreed that sometimes the coil resistances are no indicator of failure (the VT500 was good...
