Thanks for the advise chaps. i'll take a look tonight. It sounds like one of the connectors could have come lose whilst he was under the seat.
fingers crossed.

Help - Speedo problem
Just had a Datatool system 3 installed on my VTR1000-F2. Went for a ride last night (1st time out after fitted) and noticed speedo not working. Rev counter and instrument panel ok, but mileometer and trip not incrementing. Ok for keeping mileage down but not good for my license! (Didn't realise the ...

Speed
May sound obviuos, but here goes..
How about getting a mate to drive down a section of Motorway/daul carriageway and agree a speed to drive/ride at. Say 70mph.
You can then see what you are reading and compare?

When in need
A quick note of thanx to fellow riders Went for a ride through Derbyshire on Saturday, just coming to a roundabout outside Bakewell and the bike start behaving badly. Flat rear, never had one before. Parked up, leathers off, few sarky comments from passers by, but within 40 minutes of the AA arrivin...

Sorted
Thanks for the advice. Took the easy option and tee'd into the correct pipe, wonder what I tee'd into last time? All working fine now. Didn't fancy going into the engine/carb as i'm crap at stuff like that, not mechanically minded. But I probably will get it done on the next service as it sounds the...

vacuum pipe
Loopy, fiited the RMV where you suggested, pointed the drip to the front sprocket, fed the pipe up under the tank ready to tee in. Can you confirm which is the right pipe to tee into? Mine has a thin brown pipe (rhs) that comes out of the tank base and connects into a wider pipe that runs into the e...

oiler
Thanks for the advice chaps, I'm a bit wary of cutting into the vaccum pipes as the bike still has over a years warranty left. Can you tell me exactly where i can tap into on the engine to make it easier, any pics? I have only had the bike a week so not had chance yet to get a haynes manual. t00lkit.

Can anyone suggest where I put my olier?
I've had a search through the topics but nothing relevant, wheres the best place to install the oiler from my previous bike?
(Under the seat looks cramped)
Any useful cable/pipe routing tips would be appreciated.
Cheers

Test Ride - Questions
Chaps, just had my test ride today (52 plate - Red) from a dealer, just wanted to ask a couple of questions to you guys in the know. Overall the bike was great, probably going to buy. Temperature. It was running at about 85C on the motorways etc, but crept up to 103C during heavy traffic/city centre...

Hi - New member
Hi I've just put a (refundable) deposit down on a '52 firestorm, I'm going for a test ride on Friday. Trading in my Fazer 600 (great bike, first bike). What should I be looking for when testing, bike is only 9 months old. Am I doing the right thing? Always liked the look of the Firestorm but quite n...
