Mine is horrible on that change as well.

Sometimes I can get a nice smooth change but everything has to be just right, so I get the feeling its a common thing. Mind you I dont think I have ever had a Honda with a good change from 1st to 2nd.

I know the feeling there, been getting soggy for a whole week. Saturday dawns dry with some blue sky, hell bells I'm off for a ride, most enjoyably, only spoilt by finding out the SP series is no longer made, so a new will be out of the question when I get the money :( . Sunday, what a scorcher, off...

Actually I have just started a sub and rather like it. Its like RIDE used to be before the new editorial team took over, with a lot of the old humor from BIKE. Not everyone will like it but I do and I am the only one who matters, so there. *ducks and puts asbestos replacement clothing on* Chris

Thanks for replies so far. I can't go all the way back to standard as all slides I have are drilled as both sets seem to have been dynojetted so I have no standard parts at all. I have tried a standard filter but it just made things worse for some reason, was ok around town but as soon as throttle w...

Spitting back through carbs

Hi all, What exactly do the little secondary filters in the airbox do? As far as I can see they have absolutely no effect on mixture as they are blanked off from the air box, am I right in thinking this? If I am, then running with or without them should have no effect on the mixture at all, correct?...

Well, it would be crap if it was worn out, wouldn't it!

Thats the problem, it was not actually worn out, still had plenty of life in it when I changed it.

I assume thats one of the older vfr's then? Surely they had crossplies as standard, well the ones I went to see when I was vfr hunting did have, in which case I can recommend the Dunlop GT501's as I fitted one to my Cbr600 I just got rid of. That had the ST46 on it and tbh I thought it was crap, all...
