I have the 03' model,.. and the bars that had been ok.. are now hurting my wrists in slow running traffic situations.

Does anyone know of any after market bars that will fit and raise the hand possitions?

I guess that I'm getting old.. or soft,..But I don't want to sell the bike.

The smallest was the right rear,.. an angle bracket was for the left front to attaching to an original mounting point. The othe,.. was the left rear near the stand.. Mine ...

FUEL.. what octane??

I have been running my 2003 on 91 octane unleaded,.. and was told today that I should use either 96 or 98 octane unleaded. I did not think that a FireStorm had that higher compression ratio. So far I have not had any drama,.. I had it Dyno-tuned today with new mufflers and a K&N filter,.....

I found "Mothers polish & glaze" good on the painted bits.. including the wheel rims, screen and mirrors. Simple green bike wash get off the gunk,.. in the hard to get to places.
Dunno about that silicone,.. I prefer to be able to go around corners with out skidding. haha.

NO,.. its inside the inlet manifold.. I suspect it is a fuel defuser.. or a devise to to assist or further inhance the swirl and fuel mixing at lower RPM.
I was conserned that its removal my give poor driveability issues at low RPM.. or poor fuel economy..
Maybe its only on the later models. ??? :?

Intake baffles

Today I spoke with a Honda dealer,.. and was told that the late model VTR1000F's have baffles in the inlet system/ manifolds that can be removed to give a power increase.
Does anyone know about this .. or know of any down side with this alteration / modification ??

I have been considering separating the pipes, to improve the sound. Instead of 2 into 1 into 2 as with the standard system. Some of the after market items are made separate,.. and sound excellent.(like sp1 or 2). I will have front pipes the same small size to retain a little torque. :)

Thanks Fluffy, I did try him,.. NZ$294.00 .. a bit over the top with his prices. I don't know if the MRA quality is worth 33% more $. Prices ex AMC Aussie are about NZ$247.00 for ZG. :( I can get ZG delivered ex USA for $193.31.. and Puig about the same. Then lesser brands,, even cheaper. Tiz...

Energy labeling test have shown that 96 will give an imporved MPG,.. but a higher cost $.
I guess kms(miles) per dollar,.. and FUN value are the keys.

Fuel here is like kerosen with addative,.. really crappy

? What Octane fuel do you have there ?

We have 91 or 96 unleaded crap... but the storm is a low compression engine.
SP1 or SP2 have the high compression,,.. and higher octane will help there.
