You don't say which model. I had a 955 before I bought my storm. I can't say I was overawed by it, especially when the first engine I had in it shredded the head. The ensuing argument with Triumph warranty department would have been funny if I hadn't been so out of pocket. They accused me of not put...

I've used Mobil 1 sparingly on my last few bikes and it works a treat, don't put too much on and you don't end up spraying the underneath of the seat and tyre. Consequently chains and sprockets last forever. I have been averse to sticky chain lubes as I find that they end up attracting grit and road...

If its any use you could try mentioning you are a mate of Martin Meadows' bro-in-law (Martin used to own it)
Would that make it more expensive though? :P

Will be when then insulating washers I ordered finally arrive. Separate long story. In the meantime I finally connected up today the starter motor I got from ebay (not 10p but still cheap). This one looks like its just had the cable welded onto the bolt!!!!! Still it will suffice for now. I am most ...

DOT 5 has a higher boiling point that DOT 4 but is super hydrophilic so will suck the moisture out of anything in short order. Suitable for race bike use as it gets changed so frequently............................

Bugger, the only parts available from Mr Silvers emporium are the brushes ( just the C shaped part) and the holders. New pattern starter at £407 plus vat. I shall be investigating other solutions methinks.

Thanks for your help.

Hi All, well the saga continues, the starter is okay and will start the bike but the bolt that the cable connects to is looking pretty shagged. does anyone know if this is a part I can order? From the very useful OEM website link posted earlier its not a part thats listed. I'd rather get the proper ...

I've always found mine to be somewhat wooden, liven up pretty quickly when really put under load though.

Could be that the pads are glazed, I guess it depends on what you are used too.

Yes the main feeder cable has completely corroded through just above the connector. The rubber cap is crispy to say the least so it was probably verrrrrrry hot at some stage. I need to have a proper look, and see what can be done about the connector. there's a cable on fleabay at the moment for a te...

well looks like its a can of beer to cupasoup as the cable connected to the front of the motor has corroded clean through. Good call as I would never have thought to look there. Now, is it an easy replacement or do I need to take it to a stealer? I'm happy to strip body work etc. and am working on t...
