I just got a Draper wrench. Settings from 10 to 150. 1/2 inch drive plus a set of sockets from 12 to 34mm. The manual suggests that this range of settings will do just about all the nuts and bolts on the 'Storm. £30 for the wrench and £20 for the sockets from a local hardware store. Quality looks ...

Powerbronze hugger.
Hi all. I've just ordered a Powerbronze hugger. Does any one out there have one of these fitted to their 'Storm? Was it easy to fit? Were there any problems that resulted in wombles about with the hugger or the bike? I am sure the thing will come with fitting instructions but I just wanted to check ...

Don't know about the compatibility, but Busters Accessories (08702 412040) are offering D208's for £150 delivered a pair (quote RM63). That's the best price I have seen and it's got to be better value than buying a rear 207 and worrying about compatibility or cocked up handling. You,ve probably onl...

Braided lines.
Hi chaps.
Hel offer 3 different set ups for the front. Standard set up, 2 lines and one line with a caliper link line running over the front mudguard. Any views out there on which is the best set up or doesn't it matter?
Thanks.

Maxxis rubber.
Has anyone ever tried Maxxis covers? The adds say that they use the latest Japanese tire technology and they are bloody cheap. I have never seen a write up on them but Ride magazine did an article on the 'Storm a few issues ago and one of the bods who gave their view on the bike said he had fitted t...

Thanks for the info. My previous bike was an '85 GSXR750 so the suspension on the 'storm feels like it's from a different planet anyway. My overall feeling on the suspension is that the back seems quite hard with very little sag. The front feels OK so far, no bottoming out or undue squidginess and i...

Fork leg corrosion.
Hi all. Just bought a '98 Firestorm with quite a lot of corrosion on the fork legs. Anyone got any tips on getting rid of it and restoring the original finish? Same story on the rest of the exposed alloy parts really, looks like the previous owner had a dislike of cleaning. Advice/tips greatly recei...
