Where each pipe meets the head? I want to clean them up and one of them is quite rusty.

Finally, Carbs out!!
Happily working my way through cybercarl’s great write up of fitting MCCT’s - as well as generally stripping her down as far as I can to check things over. The first discovery last night was that the velocity stacks were on the wrong way. Mine had the large one at the front. The article definitely s...

Re: What is this switch/sensor please?
If you look in your Haynes Manual under the "Ignition System" chapter on page 5.4, under the title of "Pulse Generator Coil Assembly, you will have a better idea with the photo's..... Chris. Good shout. Found it thanks Chris. I can at least test the resistance and Voltage now for a b...

Re: What is this switch/sensor please?
Yep, thanks guys. I will have to put it down to experience and hope for the best. The irony was that I was working through the steps to do the Manual CCT conversion and being clinical and then I just thought "I'll just quickly get this pulled off out the way.." Oh well. Every day's a schoo...

Re: What is this switch/sensor please?
Okies. Thanks for reply. So, is it a non removable item from the outside then? I was keen to strip the entire electrical system out lock, stock and barrel. Quite annoyed at myself for pulling harder expecting a spade term to pop off, before I fully researched what it was. So, its the timing signal t...

What is this switch/sensor please?
Afternoon all, At the front of gearbox housing I tried to pull this rubber booted switch cable thing. I pulled a bit too hard, thinking that it must have been pushed in there by someone - maybe expecting spade terminal. Quite cross that the rubber boot broke, revealing two yellow (or one yellow and ...

Re: Front Sprocket Cover issues/gasket/help!
Aha! I wonder why mine was missing? Cheers Chris, I will source them. Out of interest, would you recommend that I remove the clutch case to see if there’s cobwebs in there? Or is it likely to be ok? I have put it in gear, but that probably doesn’t mean much. I doubt I’d find rust, but I’ve heard the...

Re: Front Sprocket Cover issues/gasket/help!
It would seem as though I have a plate and gasket missing, that would’ve stopped the rain getting in to the clutch pushrod?!
So, are there meant to be two of these gaskets (one either side of the plate?)
Very confused

Front Sprocket Cover issues/gasket/help!
Stripping down a bike that was given to me after being sat for several years in the rain - I'm only going as far as I need to to check that everything 'seems' ok. One concern was that the clutch level was solid, so I decided to investigate (see pics) and the inside of the clutch slave piston was rus...

Re: Main swing arm pivot bolt help!
So that all worked swimmingly, many thanks. However, can't seem to get to the front sprocket without taking the clutch hydraulics apart. Again, am I missing something obvious. Haynes manual doesn't seem to mention draining clutch fluid. The black cover is behind the clutch hose thing with gaskets et...

Main swing arm pivot bolt help!
My aim was to remove the whole rear brake assembly as a unit, with the foot rest, return spring, piston etc. Being a total doofus, I cracked the 27mm nut (turns out to be the bolt head on that side) then realised it was the main very large swing arm bolt through rear of engine. As there’s nothing at...
