Few more jobs done. Replaced the plugs, although they looked fine as they should be after only 9K miles. Replaced the air filter....good that there was not a mouse nest in there, unlike what I found in my VFR! Then fitted a pair of VFR 800 FI clip-ons to give about an inch rise. Bit of a faff, juggl...

I solder all my connections, so am not sure if these connector terminals can be crimped. You do need a powerful soldering iron though, especially on the thick cabling I used. Not eco-friendly, but use 0.5mm flux-cored solder with lead in it, not the lead free stuff. You can still get this from a few...

This was the corrosion behind the OEM RR where the earth wire eyelet attaches. Maybe that was the original problem if the VTR RR dumps current through that auxiliary wire rather than the ground wire in its connector?
