Re: Hi from Reading

Good job getting them done . So many people don’t take the time and snap the studs . Cheers! I saw your PM to me, but I can't reply by PM yet, as I don't have enough posts. Anyway, yes go straight to battery from the RR with 12V and Ground. Put a 30A inline blade fuse in the 12V line...I use the ma...

Split stainless exhaust clamps arrived...cheers Mac  Lots of Plusgas over a few days, then blow torch heat.....and the front nuts came off fine :D Cut the old clamp off with a disk cutter. Rear one is not too bad condition and hidden anyway, so I'll save that for later  https://am3pap0...

I think both VFR750 and VFR800 bars will work.

here's a link for you to read: viewtopic.php?p=409659

Chris.
Yep, 41mm fit. Mine are VFR800FI bars.
The later VFR VTEC bars don't fit as they are 43mm

Re: Hi from Reading

Thanks. BTW that wasn't from Fleet/Crookham was it? Oct 2017 I looked at a 9000 mile example in blue with a funky alarm system that had to be switched each time it cranked. Can't be the same machine? Bought it from a newish dealer in Farnborough...so could be the same one  Hasn't done ...

Also bought a fork brace from China on eBay. £35 total delivered in 10 days! Pleasantly surprised at the quality. Supposed to be 6061-T6 (aerospace) aluminium. https://am3pap003files.storage.live.com/y4mCj0KlmKY9wwCIo4IqLrMNgw5sygNFEcr4aALunedERODhJ6CeygbodSrBxlKdmksXyfsjIzt_CsvdEpDO04taEaKONjTBDjf3...

Re: Hi from Reading

Then found that the steering bearings had a bad central notchy feel. Took the old ball race bearings out and found some strange pitting. Wasn't expecting that on a 9K mile bike. Used a small butane pencil torch to heat the stem bearing lower race to tap it off. The steering head races just tapped ou...

Re: Hi from Reading

Bit more work in progress Fork legs out for new 0.9kg linear K-Tec springs and fresh 7.5 oil. Will rub them down and give a coat of aluminium spray paint before re-installing. K-Tec length is the same as the progressive OEM springs, so that saves having to cut spacers. https://am3pap003files.storage...

tony.mon wrote: Wed Nov 30, 2022 9:25 pm From the details you give, 10wt is the heaviest you need, but I'd still go with 7.5 wt.
If you go with 10, perhaps you might increase the air gap a little. 135mm is about right with 7.5 wt oil.
Thanks for the advice.
I'll go with 7.5 and 135mm gap

Re: Hi from Reading

Just bought a cheapish eBay fork brace from China....what can possibly go wrong?! Says it's made of 6061-T6 aluminum. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/384379906868 Also bought some K-Tech stiffer linear springs 0.9kg/mm, as I'm 15 stones rider weight, and will put fresh fork oil in. Is there any advantage...
