Re: Newbie question regarding paint spraying

Wow, that wobbz chap is massively talented! Definitely someone to go to for high end finishes. However I really would like to learn, and give it a go myself… I have found a 2k black gloss kit on Amazon, I’ve posted a photo of it, would this be good enough if I strip original paint off first (wheels)...

Newbie question regarding paint spraying

Hi guys, So having sorted a few of the mechanicals out, I’ve now decided to be impulsive and got myself a hvlp spray gun having never used one, or painted anything besides a house wall. As usual I’ve purchased a tool without researching what is actually involved and now find myself whirling around i...

Re: Carb strip and rebuild

Also does anyone know if I can get a replacement for the choke cable ‘connector’, ideally a metal one as I’ve just found the reason my choke isn’t great, the thread has snapped halfway.

Carb strip and rebuild

Hi guys, Doing my first carb strip down and rebuild following the cracking detailed instructable from here, but like a massive rock wombling helmet I yanked the needle a little too keenly and before I knew it, something went ping across the garage!!! Thinking it must’ve been a ghost I thought nothin...

Re: Sheared off header studs

Unfortunately haven’t access to a mig welder currently (though in the process of making a good case to get one...

Sheared off header studs

Me and my bright pissing ideas….got headers off to give a quick cheap refurb to, had one stud left in…did the usual (thread release, heat, and used stud puller) and the frigging things sheared off leaving 3-4mm sticking out. Any suggestions would be welcome, the obvious kinds also. Cheers guys. http...

Re: New member - Swindon, England.

Thanks for all of the welcomes chaps! My aim for the next twelve months is to learn as much ‘spannering’ on this bike whilst also using it daily, (weekends ideally excluded - (very dependent on my dear darling boss) Regarding the reliable member I’ve found, it’s his judge of character that is likely...

New member - Swindon, England.

Hi everyone, Wanted to quickly introduce myself. I’m Chris, 41, and I am a bike-a-holic 😜. Owned a 1998 vtr1000 for about a month now, it was an impulse buy off of Facebook and bought as a daily commuter (and yes, I know I’m a massive tit because they’re thirsty, but luckily I only work six miles fr...
