sirch345 wrote: Fri Aug 04, 2023 8:01 pm I'm not saying you don't want to reverse those jets, but could the clunk just have been a spit-back through the carb(s)?

Chris.
Possibly, but how to remedy?
Can it really be as simple as reversing the jets to the correct positions?
Seems an odd thing to happen. Never had it before.

Re: RamAir Filtres

Right, so. Not really having the time change the carb. jets over. Plus knowing that the bike fires up and idles nicly with the front and rear jets reversed. I thought I'd go for a little run last night, just around the city and onto a minor A road. Everything seemed really nice. Smooth. Pulled reall...

Re: RamAir Filtres

I agree with Rob (Fabiostar) and Nick (Freeridenick) on the main jets, see below: Taken from the Honda Shop manual Fuel System VTR..jpg Chris. Invaluable stuff, thank you. Fabio is not wrong. Larger main jet in the rear carb. I'd suggest you download the workshop manual and check that out. Also loo...

Seat/Saddle

Hey up, I going to try to make my own seat for my bike. Essentially I keeping the bike as a 2 seater but otherwise I'm fully street-fightering it. Because I have got rid of all the fairings, there are gaps around the back of the seat. So, as I was always intending to get the seat re-clothed. I thoug...

Re: RamAir Filtres

you should have the larger of the jets in the rear cylinder not the front as the rear runs a little hotter. I think you are wrong as that runs contrary to my experience with other V twins, specifically the NT400 (Bros/Hawk) and what I have read about the stock jets, but I am interested to know your...

Re: RamAir Filtres

Hey up all, Bit of a thread resurection, but it'll help me keep track of where I am. Today, it was raining all day in Pompey, so instead of my usual Sat. afternoon activities, I had a bit of a tinker. Had the carbs. off the other day and ordered up some main jets. When I took the bowls off, I found ...

Re: Jet recommendations / carb work

With modern fuel you can't read a plug like you used to so looking at them like that is of no good, although the electrodes don't seem to show damage, To read plugs now you would have to look deep down in the porcelain for a grey ring, you need to cut the plug in half to see that so new plugs would...

Tool Kit List

Hey up, Does anybody have a complete original tool kit? I'm looking for a tool mentioned in the Haynes manual. (Plus any others which have been lost by previous owners.) The photo shows it being used in place of the tank hinge bolt. To raise the tank about 100mm, for better access to the valve witho...

Re: RamAir Filtres

As everyone says, back away, big headaches will come your way. Fitting pod filters equals no airfilter at all as far as operation goes. If I went down this road (and I guess I have before), leave the pilots alone, get some HRC needles (unobtanium), 165 (aprox) main jets and block the main airbleeds...

Re: MOTOBATT Battery

News: borrowed a meter and just had on the bike now.
Showed 12.63V with engine off.
Showed 14.34V with engine running.

So now I need a new meter.
Any suggestions on what to look at/for greatfully recieved.

Cheers All.
