Re: Paddock stand Bobbins
The overall thickness doesn't really matter that much as long as the bobbin doesn't come loose. I used a good quality stud-lock (not nut lock) on mine and they've been fine for years now. If worried, a dab of 24hr Araldite (not Rapid) would do the job too. One of my best mods (and the bike now has 3...

Re: Would you take a chance?
Well if you want a project then I'm sure it'd be OK, but don't pay anything like what you would for a runner espewcially this time of year. Probably could pick up another engine and overhaul it while sorting out the other non-working bits like brakes/seals etc etc. if this one were 'difficult'. Woul...

I'll start the ball rolling. I've always liked the film of Quadrophenia. In fact I am in the process of turning a 1962 Lambretta Li 150 into Phil Daniell's Jimmy bike. So, best (for me). The actual, genuine, authenticated signed copy signed by Phil Daniels of his script for "Quadrophenia" ...

Re: wavy or standard front discs
I'd say the calipers have sticking pistons. They only have to 'drag' a bit and they really make the braking effort a lot higher for no real movement at the slave cylinder end ie. the calliper itself. Just think where the callipers positioned in terms of road cr*p and it it is easy to see how and why...

Re: Desert Island Discs
Mountain; Nantucket Sleighride? Those of us old enough to remember might know that part of that instrumental in the centre piece was used for a documentary programme's opening sequence. "World in Action" I think IIRC. Five albums? Hmmm. Well Physical Graffitti (Led Zeppelin) would be in mi...

Re: 1977 Suzuki GT550B for sale...
Always loved the Suzi triples (wanted a GT380 when I owned my GT250!). I adored the four pipes look but I'm sure yours sounds terrific. I remember they had that habit of misfiring on the centre pot in the rain from the water thrown up by the front wheel/inadequate mudguard ! Good luck with the sale....
