Re: Blue tooth ear buds

+1 on the Sena blutooth/mesh headset, never used a headset before this year and a mate told me to get one (and a quad lock) for a trip we were going on. I initially rubbished the idea but am a complete convert now. Some helmets have an exact space where the ear piece goes and other have a general ar...

Re: what will get you through winter?

This time of year I use my leaf blower to dry the bike after a wash, its 2 stroke power blasts the water off :D Doesn't fully dry it but gets rid of pretty much most of the water and a quick whizz round with a chamois drys it. I can see the appeal in a heated drier though :plainsmile

Re: Here is Practical Explanation about Next Life, Purpose of Human Life, philosophical/religious facts,

I read the initial post all the way through with the expectation that the answer to life would be the new BMW R1300 GS as there are so many 1250's around...sadly disappointed so I'll keep going on the firestorm :D

Re: This winters project.

Great decision not to sell  Good luck with the rebuild, lots of support and detail available on the RD forum.

I am not as brave as you and got my engine completely rebuilt by Dave Whattam a few years ago.

Bit of a hike to get to Dave's place from NI though :)

Re: 2003 exhaust

I appreciate it’s an old thread but as the Dude once said “I've got information man! New s**t has come to light!" I’m having a clear up and was thinking about listing a NOS Firestorm RH exhaust tail pipe. I bought it from Lings Honda a couple of years ago as I thought it was the correct p...

Spare Firestorm Engine

Hi - I am a bungling amateur (but keen to learn) when it comes to engine maintenance and my firestorm will need valve clearance checks soon. I was wondering whether it would be a good idea to get a spare engine to practice on. I could then follow the advice in the workshop page when it came to engin...

Firestorm in the news

Not sure if it is news but I just read this month's (July) classic motorcycle mechanics and the firestorm gets a modern 'makeover'. Not sure of the single swing arm idea but the imagined bodywork looks quite modern. They don't have anything new to say about the bike but at least it is not being forg...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Price of tyres is going through the roof! I've just been quoted £470 for a pair of Michelin Roads 5's. If you wanted the road 6 he had to special order them and couldn't give me a date when they might be in 8O Getting them done tomorrow afternoon. Mmmm, new rubber for Devon :D Pete.l I got a set of...

Re: Exhaust Recommendation for Firestorm

Great info thanks, lextek and blue flame now on my list, my dream list has akra / moriwaki / yoshimura but pretty hard to come by :plainsmile Look on the Japanese eBay sites. Jauce is one I've used before. You'll have to pay duty but they will still be a reasonable price, and your dream ticket item...
