Re: Oberon Clutch Slave Leaking

Hi. tried a back to back comparison with my SV650 - both had similar resistance to manually turning the rear wheel with no engine on - with both I could find a defined bitting point for the clutch - that I hope proves the VTR clutch is working correctly - still can't get over the big clunk as it goe...

Oberon Clutch Slave Leaking

Hi folks - wondered if anyone else has this issue - oberon clutch slave was fitting by previous owner - I get a drip of hydraulic fluid on the side stand pivot - weirdly of all places - triple checked it's not chain lube and my master cylinder level has dropped slightly . Took it apart and no obviou...

Re: R&G Frame Sliders Install and engine Bolt

Thanks for all the replies - my mistake - check with part diagram and it what’s referred to as the front engine bolt - it’s one on two that go straight through - worry I have is as Chris mentioned the bolt corrodes where it passes through the engine - if I give it too big a smack with big hammer I’l...

R&G Frame Sliders Install and engine Bolt

Hi Folk's I'm fitting R&G frame sliders - quick question - it say replace the centre engine bolt - is it as simple as removing the standard nut on the right side and rather then touching the castle nut and adjuster it push out the engine bolt to the left side. Reason for asking mine seem stuck f...

Re: Raise seat height in front

I had a similar issue as mine has a WP shock which is longer than stock to sit the bike more on its nose - great turn in but you're constantly sliding forward so loads of weight on the bars - fitted eazi-grip pro tank pad - a revelation - you can grip the tank with you knees and they're so grippy wh...

Re: Can I use Dynojet needles with standard main jets?

That sounds like the problem - the pipes are outside the carb cradle and have been shortened by previous owner - but they were angled at 45 degrees - moved to pointing vertically down -will give it another run to see if it works

Re: Can I use Dynojet needles with standard main jets?

All is well - made the final change. - new inlets stubs - bit of back and forth with wemoto (who are great as usual) as they only stock the restrictor plate version which is down the replacement on the 1999 bike. - here's the interesting bit the front inlet had no metal ring (rear was completely sta...

Re: Can I use Dynojet needles with standard main jets?

Latest - I changed the plug and got a new fuel tank cap - as I suspected it had vapour lock issue - took it ou today for a run it ran fine outer than a slight pop on the over run when it got hot

Re: Can I use Dynojet needles with standard main jets?

Thanks for the support - this is definitely a challenging bike - I'm going to rule out fuelling - checked all the tank vents, going to replace the inlet rubbers (rule of leaks), reached the fuel petcock - go a new fuel cap coming as can't rule out vapour locking. Plan then is to move onto the igniti...

Re: Can I use Dynojet needles with standard main jets?

After a few pints of thinking juice last night - could it be a fault TPS sensor - I've checked it with the multi meter previously and appeared to work (set near 500k ohms as recommended on the forum) - all the symptoms I'm getting could be ignition related rather than fuel - has anyone had a faulty ...

Re: Can I use Dynojet needles with standard main jets?

Hi folk's Another morning wasted drained tank checked breather ( not 100% on filler cap but seal look OK) - both overflow and tank breather work - managed to find a 175 jet - other than a 45 pilot jet it's a back to stock as you can get - but still runs like a pig under 3,000 rpm - surging and stutt...

Re: Can I use Dynojet needles with standard main jets?

The saga continues. - thanks 8351hawk - trawled your posting and went back to basics - checked everything again - Delkovic Cans (road legal so close to originals ) , left main jets at 178Fr 180R (I haven't got a 175) , pilot 48, ops set to 494K, fuel screws Fr 2. R 2 1/4. |fired her up everything fi...
