Dynojet slide spring specs?

Hey Guy's, Can anyone give me some specs on Dynojet slide lift springs please. Need to know the total uncompressed length and the wire thickness of the Dynojet items, thanks in advance. Now if they are shorter than stock springs (with less coils), they will be stiffer than stock, for a same given wi...

Re: Something new, balancing carbs?

Well further to my original post, the 'spit back' procedure that helped me originally only worked when l was a touch lean on the pilots (45's), since l changed to 48's the strange altetnating spit-back stopped. Prior to receiving my vac gauges (after fitting the 48's) l set the butterflies with a pi...

But that was on an engine with lots of mods, so a standard one might behave differently.
Ah cool, thanks. :-)

Re: How do 'you' know which cyl must be richer?

Yep I can agree that the rear cyl is running hotter than the front at certain times BUT how should carburation be changed to suit that temp increase? I have my own ideas on this (see my background below), I'm interested in proof of testing from anyone else in the world. Is extra richness to cool the...

How do 'you' know which cyl must be richer?

Forgetting what Honda have done originally, how does anyone here 'know' why front or rear cylinders require different jetting? Has anyone run on a dyno with two completely separate exhaust systems? I'm talking with same length intake trumpets. Some say "the rear cylinder runs hotter (which I co...

Yep agreed, but l'm surprised how close l got it without any gauges :-)

Something new, balancing carbs?

ok I pulled the carbs apart on a used bike I just bought, just see what I have to deal with, the butterflies looked out of kilter with each other, and surely were after I played with them lol, anyways I put them all back together; ran like a dog (no surprise there ;-) ). Having not had to tune a mul...

Part No for dual-stage foam for airfilter here :-)

Ok, yes I know I am late to the VTR party, took me 20 years to come back :-) So I just bought this '02 model, straight away stripped her down, man I have missed working on such a fun bike, ok back to the point.... The airfilter was well dirty, so as per a mod written by another here, I tore the pape...

Re: Change in emulsion tubes after 2001?

I polished the rods after throwing one up between the cylinder V :-)

The bike held the Thunderbike (singles, twins & triples) lap record at Winton and Broadford race tracks, until a factory 955 Duke came along :-)

Re: Change in emulsion tubes after 2001?

Hi :-). Sure. My '97 VTR was the first one flown into the country for design approval, l worked for Honda Australia at the time, l had free use of their race team dyno. MODS Reground cams, standard springs. We got JE to make the high comp pistons, as nothing was available at the time. I ported the h...

Change in emulsion tubes after 2001?

Hey Guy's, I've been hangin around looking for a few years, I had the first VTR that came into Australia. back in '97, I raced it in the Australian Superbike Championships, I got it from the stock 96hp to 136, before any stuff was available for them, I'll have to post a pic or two for ya's. So, afte...
