Re: What's annoyed you today??

Not if your out and about or forget  sniping has it's flaws though because if there is more than one person bidding on the same product using the same snipe site then it prioritises whoever has the highest bid and therefore pushes the price up by competing against each other. When I want to g...

Re: Anyone in London, Canning Town-ish?

if you are around tomorrow, I can come and look to see if there's an issue, if it's carbs, and you can remove them, I can ultrasonically clean them for you foc. but I only have tomorrow free. That'd be lovely, only thing is I get back from work at 7pm and I don't have a toolkit on me to remove anyt...

Re: Anyone in London, Canning Town-ish?

your brake issue sounds like it could be a disk problem... if the disks are buckled or running out of true for some reason, they will push the pads back when you are riding and then you would need to pump the lever more than once to get the pads back into contact with the disk. so if the symptoms a...

Re: Anyone in London, Canning Town-ish?

Hi mate, I'm based in Hackney. New to the storm too but not bad at tinkering. Can come help you bleed the brakes sometime in the next week if that's all you need? happy to have a look if it's more complicated than that too.. Get hold of a bottle of dot4 brake fluid, I have some tubing and tools.. H...

Anyone in London, Canning Town-ish?

Bike's been out of action for the past two months and with the heat we're having just now... I'm getting slightly tired of cycling into work drenched in my own sweat and nowhere to shower upon arrival :)

Re: Potential sparkplug cap problem (and loud exhausts)

Come along to GrainStorm... http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=40570#p439561 In the true spirit of my bike, the front brake has given up. So, no grainstorm for me. When I fully pull in the front brake, nothings happens. If immediately I release it and pull it again I get a littl...

Sparkplug Caps - Which?

Hello, Has anyone here changed the sparkplug caps to non-Honda ones, such as NGK? I see they offer a wide variety. Is there a particular model that would suit the storm? http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/ngk-plug-cap-sd05fga?gclid=Cj0KEQjwt6fHBRDtm9O8xPPHq4gBEiQAdxotvGw3Qpx2JTnLtWFE9z7owc60Y1BVCXpP0V7Q5Ew...

Re: Potential sparkplug cap problem (and loud exhausts)

I had a look yesterday and: 1. I've changed sparkplugs a month ago and I took them out yesterday to have a look and they seemed alright? Both sparkplugs looked the same: https://s28.postimg.org/7kc3rgg34i4d/Sparkplug_01.jpg 2. I checked the petcock bitsy and it also seemed perfectly fine (I cleaned ...

Re: Potential sparkplug cap problem (and loud exhausts)

Could be totally wrong here but I had something very similar with a split petcock diaphragm washer. I'm sure Macca posted one recently. Here was mine. Might be worth a check http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj572/jazzscot69/IMAGE_069.jpg I forgot to note... the bike has been backfiring/farting/p...

Re: Potential sparkplug cap problem (and loud exhausts)

Re DB killiers...Baffels... Give this guy a call...He'll need to know the outlet diameter so mesure that before calling him... http://www.pjengineering.co.uk/index.php Thanks for the tip! Potential sparkplug cap problem (and loud exhausts)

After an hour or two of riding one cylinder occasionally stopped firing. It seemed that if I stopped and poked/pushed on the front sparkplug cover, it would usually make the problem go away for the next 20 minutes (it comes and goes). The sparkplugs are new and as far as I remember the caps were put...

Re: 2001 VTR1000 , 377 miles

It's not just the owner that needs a good boot - imagine the cobwebs in those exhausts - the bike needs a good boot as well! I dunno - an average of 25 miles a year - there's a possibility it's just been to the MOT place and back again.  I can't imagine someone all those years ago having...
