So you can disconnect it there without it leaking?Duffy1964 wrote:Nah I realised on the 19l tank I could unbolt the vacuum fitting thingy along with the tank and pull hose off that connected to the carb. Will use then on 16l fighter tank though when I get time to build it

Re: What's annoyed you today??
Having a week off work to visit family on the Isle of Man and not taking the bike.
Probably not taking the Lancia either due to anticipated snow and therefore gritting/salting of roads.
Having a very annoying squeak on the vehicle we will probably end up going in.
May as well stay here!

Hi Duffy, did you ever fit the 8mm quick release? Is it all good?
10mm ones are expensive...

Possible numpty question... Why do you have to remove the spark plugs to set TDC? I don't have a socket to fit and the plug tool isn't in my kit ![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

Combination of more low down power than I'm used to, wet road and cold tires. Love it though. Need to get that stopper mod done for peace of mind.

Perfect, thanks guys. Possibly tackling this tonight then, looks like the longest bit is making up that stopper key.

Does it matter what sort of metal you use for the rod? I'm guessing anything other than soldering wire would be fine!

Cheers all! Good to know about the Reg/Rec, I had read in some places that the later ones were fine but wasn't sure.
I think a shop around on various protection bits and bobs will be the first few purchases.

Ah nice! Well I just picked up my VTR yesterday, but it's awaiting an MOT and tax to get back on the road... I'm itching to get it out but it probably won't be til later this week as I'm a little busy.
