Re: more newbie questions

Yup, sounds about right. I've just been to Cornwall and back and was getting about 90 miles from fill up to orange light of doom. That was with about 18 stone of me and luggage sat at around a ton-ish/5500-6000 rpm pretty much most of the way. Word of warning, don't sail past the services when you'v...

Re: squealing front brakes

Spacers are in the right sides. It's definitely the right fork lower caliper mounts that are bent. It's like the face that the allen bolts seat onto have twisted. The caliper sits in the right place right up until I nip up the bolts at which point the caliper then twists. The aluminium of the fork l...

A quick look at the old pads shows that they are worn at an angle. The new pads were only touching at the top on one side and the bott...

Re: Hi

It fits me really well, more than fast enough to scare me silly sometimes and handles great for the way I ride. It's had a few modifications over the years but nothing too extreme. The head...

Re: squealing front brakes

I have the same problem. New pads, chamfered the leading edge, smear of copperslip on the shims, all pistons moving freely etc etc but they still squeal and judder like a bstd at slow speeds or light pressure. They''re fine if I hit them quite firmly at speed but any gentle pressure gets them scream...
