Re: Any cheap storms?

Started wanting to ride again after wrecking my back last year. Decided I want a storm again. Hav'nt got on with any of the bikes I've owned since. Are there any cheap storms for sale? They all seem to be going for silly money on ebay these days. Not sure what you are after and expect I am too far ...

Re: Longer sidestand?

Is it possible to fit the stand without the extra sticky outy bit and is it still usable? I have one fitted without the mod and can use it fine with my size 14 feet. I will agree that it could be easier to use if it was modified, but for me I'm happy to leave it standard as it gives me no hassle. I...

Re: old tyres

I made the mistake of using an old tyre to replace a worn rear tyre just so that it would be legal until I could afford a new one. The bike in question was my commuting Fazer 600 which is now sitting in my garden with a smashed fairing and other damage due to the rear giving way on a country right h...

Re: superb orange vtr

By any chance did the rider have a black helmet, with a tank bag and a rucksack on by any chance? That might have been me on the way back from the Manx GP :)

Re: interesting one for you

Just read this post and think I have a picture of the bike in question which was taken by one of my mates when on the IOM on 5th June . On my mobile at moment so don't know how to post it up here (can only email).

Re: Happy Birthday Keith

Thanks guys  Yeah I still lurk in the forum but not had much to say lately so just tend to read. Just worked out that since the last MOT I have clocked up well over 6500 miles on the bike so still using it well. Just passed my IAM bike test today so that's a good birthday pressie for me :D....

Re: Problem with LED tail light

Recently I had a very simular problem to you. I was under the impression that either my R/R was on the way or the battery was in need of replacement. My symptoms were dimming lights, resetting clocks, intermittant bad starting and dodgy indicators that caused the clock lights to dim when they lit. F...

Re: 43 Tooth rear Sprocket

If I choose to mess around with sprocket sizes I run it through the gearing commander website. If some of you have never heard of it then here is the link... http://www.gearingcommander.com/ . You just need to put in the bike info and then it will find the standard gearing on its database along with...

Re: Art cans?

Having recently asked the very same question to a mate who MOT's bikes for a living this is what he told me... If the cans are stamped with "Not for road use" or "Race use only" then he will instantly fail them. If there is no words whatsoever on them then its at the testers disc...

Re: Speedo Problem

It seems I may have sorted out the problem. I left work today and jumped on the bike to go home. Well it totally refused to start just like it had a flat battery. So I checked all fuses and all block connectors (which were all nice and clean). I then noticed the positive cable onto the battery had w...

Re: Speedo Problem

I believe it can also can be an early symptom that your reg/rec unit is failing, so check the charging circuit as well I have recently checked the battery as my starter motor has also started to play up. After a long run then engine not running the battery was 13.1v and with it running it was 14.56...

Re: Speedo Problem

Look under ther seat. There's a 3 wire plug that has a pink wire. In plug, clean and put back together It's the plug from the sensor in the gear box that connects to the speedo! Great, I really hope it will be that simple. I will check it when I get home tonight and give it a good clean up.

Speedo Problem

Recently I have been having problems with my speedo needle working normally, then dropping to 0mph and then flipping back up to the normal speed again. Is this a common problem and any ideas where I need to look?

Re: Instant Checkmate

Finding info about people over there is very easy if you know where to look. I lived in Maine for about a year but during a visit back to England a friend of mine in America was getting nuisance phonecalls. So from this country just going by the phone number of the caller I was able to find out who ...
