Re: look who got a vtr

A few basic tips for you, as you are hunting exhausts... A VTR tends to destroy CF exhausts by the heat and exhaust pulses fairly quickly if they aren't large enough to have sufficient packaging inside to shield the CF from the heat... Some high end cans are skinned inside with a thin metal tube to ...

Re: Converter unit

Well, have you measured the entire rev range? As in going the entire way, looking at it with a decent multimeter, not the cheapest kind that won't catch the short duartion peaks at all?

Re: Converter unit

Well... Unless you plan on spending a week or two removing the cast mass in there, it's pretty much a useless task... By the time you get that out, you will have a few damaged components, so it's really no use... BTW, I used to work with reconstructing things like that, so take it from me, just don'...

Re: Track bike

This wasnt really supposed to be 600 vs 1000 really, it's about which 1000 is good price and good for track. Im sorry but personally I don't think a 600 has a chance against a 1000 all being equal. People think they corner better but look at the stats and the weight and wheelbase are very similar, ...

Re: Track bike

Is that a challenge  well you'll have to come over and race with crmc for that. the bullshit stops when the flag drops  So you reckon 600 superstock bikes lap faster than 1000 superstock bikes ? don't think so. 600 lap times can get close on some circuits but a 600 won't beat a 1000. If ...

Re: New forks

Mmm that puts that bright idea out the window then. What you say makes perfect sense because when I last had the shock off I was looking for a way to dismantle it. I was hoping there would be an end cap or something I could remove, take the spring off and slip a new one on. I could not find any str...

Re: Exhaust heat wrap

The ceramic coating doesn't adhere well to sooty/carbon deposits on the inside of the exhaust. Best give them a brand new exhaust for inner & outer coating. Well, Jet Hot says they will bead blast and clean the inside and out, so it makes no difference if new or used... And they give you a warr...

Re: New forks

Yes that is on my list of things to do. I would love a complete shock unit, Ohlins or something with separate preload and rebound controls, but that's me dreaming or waiting a very long time. So I think I will end up just changing the spring to a weight related linear spring. I just need to figure ...

Re: Track bike

1000cc bikes are only good, ideally, for long circuits with straights. General consensus is that they're too heavy and 600's are better in terms of power:weight. Sent from my GT-I9505 No, a 1000cc bike will be faster even on a short circuit, it's having the ability to use the bike to it's potential...

Re: Exhaust heat wrap

Much thanks for the link... think the ceramic has to be a better option than wrapping.. I called then and asked about it Stop of my head am sure it was about £100 inc vat Was that inside and out, or just the outside? BTW, why do they not do insides on used pipes? I get why not on plain old rusted p...

The getting trapped on your webpage that disables the browser back button is to do with something on your side. I suspect it's something to do with the javascript for your gallery. It probably has no page reload script within it which effects the way ones browser registers history therefore ones br...

Re: Battery

Ok before I go & splash-out on a new battery here are some readings I took this evening. Bike cold having not touched or charged the battery for several days. Reading: 12.56 VDC Bike started & allowed to warm to 76 degrees at tickover 1100 rpm lights off. Reading 14.79 VDC tickover 1100 rpm...
