Re: Indicators problem

So I was out today on the bike and the indicators just started working!
I am thinking the contacts must have got a little damp from sitting in the garage over the winter. Nothing a little electrical insulation grease won't fix.

Re: Indicators problem

Cheers, I'll keep that in mind.

I tested the cables on the lhs switchgear and they are all getting power so I am thinking it might be the flasher relay.

Anyone by chance know which relay type I should get for a 1999 VTR1000f?

Re: Where on "earth" is the 30amp fuse located??

Thanks very much chaps, I got the little bugger:

https://goo.gl/photos/TZfFqmRWFYFpMyGD7

I was fitting a new battery when a precariously placed spanner dropped and hit both terminals causing a short. Out tomorrow to get a new one.

Heres hoping the fuse blew before it damaged anything else.

Yeah, thats where it was on my old storm but I am not seeing any 'red cover/plug'. The only red i see there is on the cover of the positive battery terminal, which is of course not it.

Re: Clutch Problem

Found a post here where someone else seems to be getting the same problem:

http://www.fixya.com/motorcycles/t6748756-vtr_firestorm

one of the solutions is to look at the 'clutch plate is too close for engagement.' I ill have to look into how to adjust the plates.

Re: Clutch Problem

Thanks chaps. I'm going to strip it down at the weekend again but last week when I did it the plates looked in good shape and push-rod seemed clean enough. Cylinder levels are fine but Going to take your advice and drain the cylinders to see if there is some air in there that could be the cause. Car...

Aye, I think I will order those Philips ones this week. Do you see what I mean by the rainbow effect with these ones? Do yous think it will cause any bother with the law using the ones I just fitted?
