So who has all week off?

Who has taken the 3 days this week as holiday and got a nice big holiday?

And what do you plan to do with the bike in this time?

Re: Hi All

Love that matt black charcoal paint.

I even like the different colour belly pan. Really smart bike.

Re: Front fork dust seals

Yeah exactly, what is the point in a rear brake that lasts forever but doesnt work?

I used to use my rear brake a lot, and really dont like how little it seems to work.

Think ill try braided hoses first - then if that still isnt enough - try some new pads.

Need a volunteer

As much as I love my new Firestorm, I cant help thinking it is underpowered. There is nothing specifically wrong with it as it revs to the red line with no coughing or spluttering and pulls quite nicely, but it just not as much as I had expected. I expected more torque at low revs, and I expected mo...

Re: Checking oil level

Oh well - I noticed that mine was just visible on the side stand and full in the window with the bike level and crapped myself and thought I need to empty it, I had always kept it between the lines at level on the R1....

Guess I wont bother now

Re: Front fork dust seals

You're probably right that the braided hoses will make a big difference... When I say soft, I mean that the back brake feels as though it is almost non existant and the front just feels spongey and weak. I have bled them both, but havent changed fluid as it has been done recently, didnt make much di...

Re: Front fork dust seals

I dont know about the head bearing yet. I dont know how to tell if it needs doing or not...the steering feels fine? It would probably be a waste of £50 on a new head bearing if it didnt need one. The money might be better spent on some better brake pads or something because I dont really like how s...

Re: Front fork dust seals

Could anyone take a look at these and recommend which to get please? They are all aftermarket seals with big price differences and im slightly weary of getting crappy OEM parts that will leak. OIL SEALS - I assume i need 2 x 2 seals per fork? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-VTR1000-VTR-Firestorm-97-05-F...

Re: Front fork dust seals

Haha the list of jobs is getting longer and longer

Though I do need to do something with the brakes, they feel so spongey and weak compared to my R1. I want them nice and sharp.

Re: What to do about this rust?

That doesnt sound a bad idea tony Is removing the sub frame and refitting quite easy? I was thinking that while I do this, I may as well take out rear shock and sort out the prolink bearing too. I remember removing a rear shock on a mates bandit and it was a nightmare to compress enough to get every...

Re: What to do about this rust?

Yep yours isnt as bad as mine by a long way

Are you going to take off the sub frame to do that or just paint the visible bits?
