Sheared studs
If I disconnect battery and ecu then the alarm is still connected and I can't disconnect that....also there look to be 2 ecu boxes, will both need removing? Will it likely destroy the datatool 3 box? Should I remove all fuses too? Thanks Tony I will do that and remove the head to drill if this fails...

Sheared studs
Hmm since posting this I have read a load of posts on here about same thing. Going to borrow elec welder tomorrow to weld a steel bar on and try that.
Do I need to disconnect ecu or anything before welding?
If this fails, will try getting oxy acetylene to heat up but will this melt the head?

Both wheels off to refurb swing arm, sub frame and front forks, fairings off to clean the engine parts with a tooth brush and the exhaust off to polish that up. Going to be a l...

Cleaning exhaust pipes
I have spent about 6 hours trying to clean these today, cleaned with wire brush, then a few coats of hammerite rust gel and then hours of sanding with emery cloth and sand paper. This is how far I got, and if you see the close up, the surface still looks pitted and horrible...is there a good product...

Sheared studs
As expected the studs on my front cylinder sheared. I was actually very surprised at how little force I put into the nut before it sheared :-( There is about 5-8mm of each stud still showing but no matter how tight I get a pair of mole grips on them, they will not turn and the mole grips slip off......

Can anyone tell me how to remove black plastic mud guard under rear sub frame? It looks to be only held on now by two clips over a tube on the sub frame under the battery, but those clips won't come off...do I just need to force them off or will I break them?

Re: Exhaust temp
I have scorpion cans and never noticed one getting hotter than the other. I will start it in the morning and check and get back to you.... I would think that they probably should get to same temp after a drive, but on idle, the hot gas will take quickest and easiest route out, so maybe one pipe is b...

Should the Firestorm wheelie?
Does / should the Firestorm wheelie off the power alone in 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd? With my last bike, I used to just roll on the throttle in 1st fairly gently and the front came up easily, in 2nd it would go light at about 80mph if I was trying to overtake too quickly or something. I expected the Fires...

Re: any body try and match the silver paint on the engine bl
You could take a sample and have someone make up a matching paint? I dont know if they do that for high temp paints, but they might do and would be worth a try? There is a place near me that mixes and matches paints while you wait. I could always call in and ask him if he does stuff that would work ...
