Nice bike mate. How much did the front fairing complete cost and where did you get it from?

Howdy all,

Yep forks off a 94 blade. Resprung with HyperPro.

Fairing is a kevlar/carbon one by Mario. Link from the main page of vtr10000.org About £900 shipped.

The carbon tank is by CarboTec.

All work done by Del!

settings

Post by BP team »

Hello wayneM,
Nice bike.I was looking at your settings. interesting... i see that you have a "side steering damper". i thought that it wasn't possible on a VTR coz of the fairing. What is the manufacturer of this material. Thinking that i can set it in the side of my bike, i bought a "front steering damper" hyperpro which one is fixed in front of my tank. Good result but i heard that a side steering damper is more efficient. I would like to know what you feel about it.
second, i see you haven't the standart front brakes. what are yours? are they really more efficient compare to the cost you have had to add? on my bike i have the standart front brakes with an "aviation hose connection" (sorry, i really don't know the english name for it, i hope you'll anderstand). it is better but could be more better.
enjoy

Hi Oliv

The Ohlins steering damper just misses the fairing (literally 3-4mm!) However, Im not sure how much difference there is in my fairing to the original one. There may well be enough difference to allow the damper fitting. I think your right, having the damper fitted to the side makes more sense.

The brakes on my bike are PFM 6 pot with 320mm discs. You can buy them in the UK as a Superbike Brake Conversion kit. The difference to the brakes is amazing. Retail price over here is about £900GBP - a lot of anyones money but I think its worth it. At the end of the day if something happens on the road then they could well make the difference between stopping or not. Priceless in my book.

Regards
Wayne

Are you sure your front brake cost £900. It's very expensive for me. 1300€! i'll keep my standart brakes... But it could have been very funny(especially for stoppies!).
s**t!

Wayne maybe you could post a close-up of the carbon tank, since that photo really doesn't do it justice (same on the ones I took tho).
