You should be allright as an MOT tester i can assure you the test is to the minimum standard !!
Quite disturbing when you see what you have to pass
If your pads are that thin you ought to change them for your own benefit

On the subject of MOT's, whats the law regaurding a reflector on the rear of the bike, i've fitted my undertray, got a weak reg plate light fitted, clear LED rear light, and not got a reflector any more.
is there a set size, can i put two small reflectors on the bottom of the plate or does it need to be one big one?

i bought these yesterday:

and might put one of the long ones on the bottom of the plate, or maybe a pair of hands, lol.

your thoughts, experiences please.

well done mate, i went with Nutty on saturday to get hers done, it passed to, asked the guy about rear reflectors, he said it needs one on the back, can be any size though, just needs one, showed me stick on ones he puts on bikes that don't have them, about the size of a 10p piece, so i'll be putting something on the reg plate, job done, lol.

Ive used stick on ones about the size of a 10p on the storm, both Harleys and converted motocrossers with no trouble over the past many years.
its a shame they outlawed the old rubber bulb style horns tho..

I always believed the rear reflector should be at least 25mm in diameter but have now found this not to be the case.

It must be red
You can't use reflective tape
must face the rear
At least 50% must be visible from the rear

You can read the requirements yourself HERE A very useful web site this although it is largely the requirements for cars :D

And don't worry about the two reflectors and having to be symetrical, as said, that's only for cars.
