Normal or not?

Post by Monkey! »

Hi folks,

Just bought a Firestorm after a period racking up stupid miles on a BMW, which ALMOST killed any enjoyment that I used to derive from riding a bike. Try it. Well, no, don't. I cannot recommend it.....

But I'm glad to say that the VTR seems to tick the boxes as hoped and I'm back in the groove of thrashing everywhere and ignoring just how often I have to stop to fill up.... It's a 98 in yellow. Standard for now and in great nick, so the ideal weapon of choice for the months ahead. :D

Anyway, my question is this- my temp gauge doesn't seem to want to go up beyond about 1/4 way although to be fair I've not left it standing to overheat. Is that normal?? :?: :?:

Cheers for the advice all. I used to ride a ZX6 a few years ago and that used to overheat like mad if you left it standing still. I guess those funny looking side radiators must be good then?

I'm glad I bought a VTR but I did like my BMW. It was an 1150GS and it ended it's life wedged under a Peugeot 106 with me underneath. That's when I figured it was time to stop rolling the dice 100 miles a day in all weathers.

So I told my other half that I'd only ride the Firestorm in "nice weather". Blatantly not the case though. Went for a ride through the Peaks (I'm in Sheffield) last weekend and it tipped it down. But I still came back smiling 8)

Then spent an age blasting off cow shite with a hosepipe.

Ahhh, summer is here.

Hehe, did anyone ever find out if tripitaka (sp?) was a he or a she? Still a much discussed debate over here.

And LMHO at you lot even having temperature gauges on your bikes. Oh, well I guess you need to know if it goes above Flamin' Freezing, so you can actually take it out for a ride...    You should just disconnect the gauges & buy electric blankets to put over them instead. Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe

Why thank you Logan, for that amazing insight into what could've possibly been the worst television show ever made... that I couldn't help watching anyway...

From what I recall, I often tried to summon up a magic pink cloud to whisk me away from whatever terrible circumstances my little self got into way back in the olden days... Reckon I had it down pat, just never saw any results. Very sad.

Almost as sad, was that I stayed for the Kenny Everitt Video Show straight after and only recently purchased a dvd of same...
