switched live feed

Post by appledell »

Fitting a speed cam detector - i need to connect to a live switched feed (ie on when ignition is on and off when ig is off). The wiring is close to the fuse box - which would be a good wire to tap off?

I took a live feed off the switched side of the ignition key from the back of the speedo for my heated grips and they are fine. I'll see if I can have alook tomorrow and tell you which wire it is.

Or if you dont want too much hassle, use the live from the brake light microswitch under the brake lever. :)

Thanks for all your help.

I sorted it - followed the wiring diagram.

if anyone else needs the info -

unclip the fuse box above the batt and peel off the insulation tape
its the 5th wire from the red (live wire) side ie the first red and black wire.
