considering its age the wee motor is still pretty fresh inside Chris. just may aswell make sure to future proof it. :thumbup:

But, just to add to the list, its gona get new clutch plates, the matals are a little worn..

so as of now the list of bits
new clutch plates
new mains
new small ends
pistons and rings
all new gaskets including head gasket. ouch for yamaha prices :eek2
new main seals
gearbox seals
pushrod seal
plugs
gear oil
oil pipes
vent pipes, sexy pink ones :lol:

what surprised me really was the fact everything was on the shelf :thumbup:

Two-strokes... Twice the power strokes, half the time between rebuilds.

The rest of the bike is cleaned up and ready to go, hope to have the motor back in over Easter and get it run in ready for springtime :thumbup: :thumbup:

how hard can it be to put a little 250 engine into a frame :eek2 :eek2 :eek2 sweet jesus i could change a vtr engine faster... :lol: the fight resumes today :thumbup:

Freshly built motor. Ten mins should throw it in right?
Oh not a chance..it came out but with the top end removed now complete it's a pita to get back in..
Battle lines drawn up today it's going in if I have any skin left on my knuckles lolImageImage

Il have to remove the top water feed to allow room to tilt it then it should jump in itself..Image

Same with mine, so I tend to put the barrels on but keep the heads off till it’s in the frame.

And I don’t have any water pipes, so mine should be easier.
