My ride yesterday

Last April I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and had a series of stays in hospital for chemotherapy. Although I was in remission after the first month, I had a stem cell transplant in August to hopefully stop the return of the disease. The NHS was absolutely marvellous. In July I was quite fit and able to take the VTR for its MOT, but after the stem cell transplant I was quite weak and then the weather did what it does. So, yesterday I felt good and it was dry and sunny so for the first time in 7 months I had a ride. I'd started the bikes up every month or so to keep the float bowls wet etc.

How life affirming that ride was. The grunt, the soundtrack, the sheer pleasure that comes with riding one of these. :D

Hi Paul, I'm really happy to hear the outcome, long may your health continue in that direction.

I bet the ride on the bike must have given you a boost after all that time :D

Chris.
